Is Baptism Necessary for Salvation?

Let’s get right to it - is (water) baptism necessary for salvation? Do you need to be baptized to go to heaven? Those are the questions in focus today.

In short, no, not according to scripture, and we even brought a little Billy Graham baptism action into the mix to help us.

I mean, when it comes to the baptism meaning and purpose, in relation to baptism and salvation, it’s really important to remember that it’s all about the gospel. If our baptism testimony is an outward expression of inward transformation, then it is most certainly a great thing, but I don’t think it’s a necessary thing.

And, let’s not forget what did Jesus say about baptism? Well, the fact that he forgave the unbaptized thief on the cross of his sins minutes before his own death indicates that the answer to the question, ‘Is baptism required for salvation?’ must be no.

I think this one of the most biggest obstables for people comparing other religions. All other religions about man trying to reach out to God. Christianity is God reaching out to man. No one can get to Heaven but through HIM.

Everyone who was saved in the New Testament, followed their Baptism. Even Paul was not saved until AFTER he was Baptized. Baptism DOES SAVE YOU. 1 Peter 3:20-21 reads 20 who formerly were disobedient, [a]when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. 21 There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
