I've asked a dear friend of mine who's church is the C.O.C. many times. An 18 year old young man was told by a C.O.C. member about Jesus and the Gospel, and this young man believed the Gospel. But on his way to get water baptized by the C.O.C.s pastor he was in a car accident that killed him. I asked was he in hell or heaven? My friends response...the young man is in hell because he didn't get water baptized. Unbelievable, so they don't believe the young man's faith was a counted unto him righteousness apparently. It's wrong, and I don't understand how the C.O.C. doesn't understand this.

Thank you Sooo Much for this !!! This really helped me, I have been A Christian since I was 16 yrs old, n I just got Baptized 2 weeks ago in Church.i just turned 44, 5 days ago. I have been confused about this topic, because I wanted to know, what really saves you, the belief in Jesus Christ, or the water baptism, Now I understand. You are saved because you believe in Jesus, and you get Baptized, because of the remission
Of your sins, n it's out of obedience to God. That's what I did . Amen

I’ve heard many preachers say that believing or belief is an action word, therefore it you believe you must accept on it and show evidence of being saved

Thank you for these short concise and succinct videos on mis-understood and mis-used verses.
I find them really useful and helpful. As a saved believer who recently realised she was in Galatian error I’m a relatively new to the free gospel of grace and so they are a fantastic aid and a great tool at my disposal. I refer to them often in many of my discussions.
Thank you very much.
While I’m here could I ask about a different scripture that has caused a little confusion.
Colossians 1:23
If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel,
In the NKJB
The first line says ‘if indeed you continue in the faith’
This implies that if they don’t continue in the faith, they will not be holy, blameless and above reproach in His sight (v22). I know it doesn’t say they lose their salvation, but how will they then be viewed by God?
A link if there is one would be great.
Thank you in advance.

Baptized with what?

Old Covenant Baptism vs. New Covenant Baptism (water vs. Spirit)

Water baptism was a part of the Old Covenant system of ritual washing. The Old Covenant priests had to wash before beginning their service in the temple. (Ex. 30:17-30) When Christ was water baptized by His cousin John in the Jordan River, He was under the Old Covenant system. He also only ate certain foods, and wore certain clothes, as prescribed by the 613 Old Covenant laws. Christ was water baptized by John and then the Holy Spirit came from heaven. (Acts 10:38) The order is reversed in the New Covenant. A person receives the Holy Spirit upon conversion, and then believers often declare their conversion to their friends and family through a water baptism ceremony. Which baptism makes you a member of Christ’s Church?

The New Covenant conversion process is described below. (Born-again)

Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

(A person must “hear” the Gospel, and “believe” the Gospel, and will then be “sealed” with the Holy Spirit.)

Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
(See Jer. 31:34 for the New Covenant promise, and 1 John 2:27 for the fulfillment)

Which baptism is a part of the salvation process, based on what the Bible says?
What did Peter say below?

Acts 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
Acts 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Based on Luke 3:16, and John 1:33, and Acts 11:15-16, the most important thing about the word "baptize" in the New Testament has nothing to do with water. The Holy Spirit is the master teacher promised to New Covenant believers in Jeremiah 31:34, and John 14:26, and is found fulfilled in Ephesians 1:13, and 1 John 2:27. Unfortunately, many modern Christians see water/ every time they read the word "baptize" in the text.

Based on the above, what is the one baptism of our faith found in the passage below? How many times is the word "Spirit" found in the passage, and how many times is the word "water" found in the passage?

Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, (See 1 Cor. 12:13)

“baptize” KJV

Mat_3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Mar_1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Water or Holy Spirit?, See Eph. 1-13.)

Luk_3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

Joh_1:26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

Joh_1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

1Co_1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (See Eph. 4:1-5)

Heb 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. (Old Covenant ----> New Covenant)

How many people have been saved by the Old Covenant water baptism of John the Baptist?

Who did John the Baptist say is the greatest Baptist that ever lived in Luke 3:16? What kind of New Covenant baptism comes from Christ?
Hebrews 9:10 Old Covenant vs. New Covenant

Regarding the words "thou shalt be saved, and thy house" I always wondered why Paul added "and thy house" IT's not like he could see the future. Then i recently came across this statistic comparing the likelihood of an entire household getting saved according to which family member first came to Christ. The smallest likelihood of the entire family getting saved when the daughter or son got saved was the smallest. Next was the wife. However, when the husband gets saved, the chances of everyone getting saved as well was OVER 90%. The word of God never lets us down.

he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, it means they both go hand and hand, Jesus is our perfect example. peter said baptism doth also now save us, not putting away the filth of the flesh but the answer of a good contience towards god. the definition of born again is ACTS 2:38 by faith you are saved through grace BUT once you know and reject baptism you are disobeying jesus.

2 kings chapter 5 what saved him from leprosy? He dipped 7 times in water and was cleaned, he was obedient. I would just obey Jesus' comantment. Everyone who believed in the Bible was baptized Shortly after. Mark 16:16 is a commandment that says exactly what it says, from Jesus in the Bible.

(Please read the multiple verses below)
Being baptized in water in Jesus name is necessary for salvation.

Acts 2:38 (kjv) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Mark 16:16 (kjv) He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Romans 6:1-4 (kjv) 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Galatians 3:26-29 (kjv) 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Colossians 2:9-13 (kjv) 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses.

Baptism does not have to be restated in the 2nd part of the verse. A person who does not believe will not take any subsequent steps to conversion. The first part of the verse remains true.

Wisdom itself will teach u that it is better to go ahead & get baptized bcuz doing so will hav no consequences, but refusing to definitely could. Remember, the Bible never said it wasnt necessary

So why does God include “baptized”? Are we just ignoring Jesus himself said it?
Also what’s your response to those who say “but he that believeth not” is logical because baptism without belief is useless?

For thousands of years Christians believed water baptism saves. The early church was unanimous on water baptismal regeneration. Even Martin Luther, father of all protestants affirmed water baptism as salvific. The belief that water baptism doesn’t save is relatively new among Christians and is completely wrong. perversely interpret bible verses to fit their false theology.

Peter 3:20-21: “… in the days of Noah during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were saved through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

John 3:5 ”Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.“

Then why does the scripture say "he that believeth and IS BAPTIZED..." ? If baptism is not important, why is it mentioned in there at all?

I mean yes, baptizing will not save anyone, otherwise you could just knock someone out, get them to get baptized, and boom one more saved sould. The reason this verse says "but he that believeth not shall be damned" an doesn't mention baptism IS BECAUSE IF ONE DOES NOT BELIEVE HE WILL AUTOMATICALLY NOT GET BAPTIZED.
