I'm a vet and use the VA clinics. Quit smoking and took up running at age 38. After watching this I added 1/2 qt of saturated whole milk dairy fat (yogurt) mixed with fresh blueberries to my daily diet. Result, my chronic high blood pressure disappeared completely in a matter of three days. The swollen veins on the backs of my hands and arms are completely gone. It was a shock to witness, and I don't use the term lightly. I have been an advocate of zero antibiotics and vaccines my entire adult life. The VA docs put up with me but aren't allowed to prescribe vitamins. I do take 3000 ui's of magnesium, D3 plus K2, Omega 3, B complex, Potassium 500 mg, and Taurine supplementation daily, as well as an assortment of others once per week or two. I drink coffee w cream and no sugar and sugar-free soda with aspartame. Thank you, doctors. The majority of men in my family passed in their mid-60s. I just turned 80 on July 4th.

Having a gout attack day after Thanksgiving. I think my error was drinking too many beers without enough water, along with over eating. Thanks for this info

An anti-inflammatory is effective just before an anticipated gout attack, but I have taken your advice in applying cold then warm treatments to improve blood flow and would you believe I didn’t need any medicine! I’ve inherited the worst of DNA from the sickest relatives and had some severe gout attacks, but your advice still makes a huge difference and I don’t need permanent therapy. Will still keep those anti-inflammatories handy though! No cure!

Gout can also be a symptom of a malfunctioning liver.

Thanks for the useful advice. I do have somewhat elevated uric acid blood level and have had gout attacks. But I want to avoid colchicine due to drug interactions with statins and other drawbacks. I do eat a lot of berries and fruits, make a daily smoothie of banana, pineapple, mango, papaya, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, plus baby kale and spinach, with Kefir and coconut water. For meals tend to keep it simple, eat broccoli, carrots, butternut squash, skinless chicken breast, salmon, tilapia. But also eat white rice, sometimes mashed potatoes. Most common breakfast is oatmeal made in the microwave with whole milk, butter and real maple syrup. Also eat whole yoghurt with a teaspoon of raspberry jam. But I confess I also eat white rice, things like croissants, cheese (mostly cheddar), ice cream almost daily, and am a chocoholic, but mostly milk choc. Am also a strong coffee drinker. Where you help is to fill in things I should add to my diet that I also like but have overlooked.

Did you mention fructose driving uric acid? Dr David Perlmutter for reference. You recommended a lot of fruit for low glycemic index, but that's not the only thing by any means.
