Advertising can really mislead you when it comes to your health. Thinking a certain cooking oil is good for you can ruin the quality of your dinner, and harm your health.

Huge corporations farm huge GMO crops, then highly process the seeds to get "vegetable oils". After spending all the money to do this, they have to convince you the oil is healthy so you will buy it.

Your health is too important to buy this crap from big-food, based on the silly recommendations from big-medicine. Here is a list of the oils you Should use to cook with, and a list of the ones you should avoid. And, I'll also tell you the one you should get out of your house right now.

Bad advise @ 4:45. Never, ever, pour oil or grease down your drain unless you want to call a plumber. Just put in the garbage.

My father opened a restaurant a few years ago. It failed and he took all the food home. He just found 2 big boxes of margarine cups. He emptied it into a big bowl. He got mad when I pulled out my butter. He said use this! I told him I’m not eating margarine, it’s bad, and it’s been sitting in our garage for 5 years! He’s worried about wasting 20 dollars worth of poison.

If you do have canola or vegetable oil in your cabinet, they work great for starting charcoal bbq fires instead of lighter fluid🙂

I'm floored here. My stepmom has been listening to you and your wife to help shrink a tumor. I am floored at the results I just heard she has at the moment. Including that she has lost 70 lb. While I know I could afford to lose 15 20 lbs I'm addicted to listening to you but not so much for the weight loss but for the overall long-term health. I never really thought about it but I consume a lot of sugars thinking I was eating healthy snacks. I'm a huge veggie eater and have gotten away from meat especially the last 6 years. I'm definitely making changes. I'm also happy to say that I just threw away an entire bottle of canola oil.

Palm oil is 50% Saturated fat, 40% omega 9, and 10% omega 6 and a high smoke point at 450°. It might be technically better than butter, but ghee is very good at 450° smoke point

I always remember my Mother back in the early sixties calling Margarine 'cart grease' as she said all it was good for was greasing the wheels of carts! She cooked with lard, dripping (beef fat) and should have followed her advice and not the so called experts and kept away from low fat 'healthy' oils! Just goes to show Mother knows best!

Just threw out a bottle of canola oil. We have been using coconut oil, avocado oil and butter for several years. We have not used the canola oil for a long time. Got it when another health doctor said it was ok. I wasn’t convinced. Thank you, Dr. Berry! You are doing a great job for humanity with your easy to understand videos. Please keep it up!

Don't throw that stuff out, use it to make candles! (Plenty of instructional videos on how to do it.) Just tested Crisco in a candle and it burned hours. Much longer than any other candles I've made and considering I only used a couple of tablespoons of the stuff I was amazed. Fantastic light source during emergencies.
As far as eating, I tried Canola oil about a decade ago because I'd been told it was healthy. Felt queasy every time and stopped using it. Now use a very small amount of olive oil to put a light coating when air frying, lard for pan frying. Butter for eggs and fish.
Thanks to all the apparently bad advice from the experts connected in any way to the government of food industry during the pandemic I've began to question everything I hear from them. At 71 I still shoot baskets and can hang long enough to do a full set with a granddaughter, who is in high school, on a tennis court so I don't think I've made too many bad decisions on my health.

I used canola oil for many years. I thought it was good for you. I threw mine away about 2 and 1/2 months ago when I started carnivore diet. I now feel much better and my knee which needed a total replacement is getting better.

To cook, I use ghee, coconut oil, avocado oil, olive oil, and sometimes animal fats. For a few dips or dressings, I'll occasionally use cold pressed sesame seed oil

Dr. Berry,
I'm so glad I found your channel. This year has been rough for me. I have never felt so much discomfort with my body. I'm hurting all over my body especially my hands. I'm a LPN; so I have to have my hands. I've been going back and forth with deciding to start keto. Listening to your videos have convinced me it time to do it. 2020 is the year of being pain free

I've been making my own mayonnaise with avocado oil. Every store bought has soybean oil.

Great video. I have been eating broccoli slaw for a few months with no real weight change. On another video I learned that soybean and canola oil are probably the culprit. Thank you for the great info. I just bought a big bottle of avocado oil to make my own dressing.
Keep up the great work !

Canola /rapeseed is a very good substitute for diesel in older cars. Or use it to oil garden fences
That should be evident in the avoidance of eating it. Another indicator is the smell of the crops. It grows near me and it stinks. Further to the smell is that if your dog runs through it it will burn your dogs ears and eyes like mustard gas.
I don't touch the stuff. I only have olive oil and lard for chips and roast potatoes
