Just watched episode. He was found guilty but skipped country. He did it, he liked them young. He totally ignored his son, like he was competition or something.

WOW I am horrible at judging people by first impressions. I saw his questioning and was like "his story checks out; there's no way he's guilty" and then all the evidence slapped me in the face.

You know what a “clear no” sounds like? “No”.

*SPOILERS* I can’t believe people think he’s innocent after the middle sister comes forward and how the son says his dad completely ignores him and says that stuff about boys. I’m not saying the mom’s great but how would you feel if you’re husband left you for your little sister.

This episode was based on Woody Allen. The man in this episode ends up fleeing to France and gets away with it basically. He goes on camera in France and vows to never return to America. He took his young new wife with him and she also happens to be the younger sister of his ex-wife. It was never 100% clear on who was guilty but that was intentional since there’s still many people who feel that way about Woody Allen.

He was accused of abusing his young daughter and another sister of the two women actually spoke up about how she was SA’d by him when they were younger. He ended up marrying their youngest sister and he took nude photos of her when she was still a minor. He 100% groomed her, that is clear. The biggest accusation was that he molested his young daughter that he had with his first wife (as shown in this clip).

His current wife was completely on his side. I also should mention that he was a television producer and he turned his new wife into a successful movie star by putting her in his films.

The episode is called “Reasonable Doubt” and it’s from season 15, episode 22.

In the actual case this was based on... I side with the victim. Dylan Farrow has stood by her memory of that day for 30 yrs. She has 0 reasons to lie.

The husband said his wife had many animals.
The house looked beautifully kept, and I only saw two dogs.

Hmmm.

I was actually expecting Nick to ask the mother to show him the laundry room.

When I heard Bradley Whitford talk, I immediately had Joshua Lymon come to mind

Making that child drink plum juice with cookies is also a form of child abuse.

For those curious, [spoilers]

it’s left ambiguous as to whether or not the father molested the daughter. Testimonies flip-flopped throughout the episode and the middle sister who also accused him refused to testify (possibly because she did not want to perjure herself). The media coverage ramped up and members of the jury admitted they had seen news stories of the case, generating bias. The father, reasonably fearing he could not get a fair trial, fled the country before he could testify to his own defense.

By the end of it, they decided that the justice system had failed. Either a guilty man was able to escape his sentence, or an innocent man was forced to flee his own home. The daughter might have had an abuser removed from her life or she might have just lost the only barrier between her and a narcissistic mother.

It’s funny how Law & Order will reuse actors for different roles. Bradley Whitford recently reappeared on SVU as a writer with dementia who believed he’d killed his wife.

These aren't even the worst onscreen parents that child has had.
