Hey everyone! I made this video today to talk about the issue with counting calories in hopes to achieve weight loss. I'm here to shed some light on this. I believe the important focus should be on eating nutrient dense meals. There is no need to count calories and in fact, you could be doing more harm to your metabolism by restricting calories.

I also like the analogy with breathing. You don't need to count how many breaths you take but make sure the air doesn't contain poison.

And you hit a point, ... one I hadn't thought while dieting and counting calories there is little doubt one has no real idea what (nutrients) may be lacking that may be needed or even being taken in...and multi vitamins don't cover the bases. Some will not be absorbed well or if at all in that form and manufactured multi vitamins tablet are often very similar to eating that veggie sub sandwich with pretty posters showing how healthy it looks, or that bowl of fortified cereal in milk...sounds good may even look good healthy...but consensus seems to indicate most vitamins made in the lab or sprayed onto your Cereal are an exercise in mental "feel good" and not much more. More for PR to show how healthy it is made to the unknowing consumer... who might be heard to say, ..." But it says it right here on the box"!" Wonder who wrote that? the FDA? ...not hardly. The same people who are profiting from bad or worsen health are the ones selling you the fun, the sun shiny day, and activity all on a shiny box. Of highly processed grains, sugars and who knows what else...good video think tank thought stirrer! 🏆

I can't imagine stopping at 1 cup of ice cream after starving yourself all day. That's a very big ask. 😬

The Calories In Calories Out model has been de-bunked and is a total waste of time. It's what your body does with the food you consume which counts.

The paradigm is thus : You get healthy to lose weight - You don't lose weight to get healthy.
