So many people forget that good leaders earned the respect of those who follow them. You can’t just demand someone to submit to you. You have to earn that right. And you can lose that right very easily.

You can’t MAKE a woman submit because she must CHOOSE to. That’s the difference between slavery and submission.

Submission= trusting someone so much that you know they will not harm you. True submission

From a Biblical perspective there is an aspect of submission that’s requested. “For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church”. However this also requires the husband to be a head like Christ is. This means there’s total love, total patience, and righteousness.If the man is not leading as Christ leads, then I’m not sure that the woman has an obligation to come under his leadership like the church does

No man worthy of respect thinks he can demand it. Respect is earned and commanded, and it's done through competance, honor, and extending that dignity, honor, and respect in return.

This is also why the Bible states “Women, submit to your husbands” not “men demand your wife’s submission”. It must be a personal choice, and can’t work well or at all if it’s forced or demanded. Good stuff!

My dad is catholic goes to church every Sunday. My mom and him married 25 years. He never yelled or talked down to her. He absolutely respected her. Never bossy. I would never use the word submit about their relationship. My dad would cringe. And my father was a transmission lineman and built a house.

Both partners should submit to each other in a sense that they both trust each other and belong to the other, no one else.

The word submit has a negative connotation, so be careful when using it.

My ex used to shut down conversations by saying he was the spiritual leader, so the conversation was over.... i then discovered his cheating/adultery and financial infidelity when he was leaving me already.

He was an abusive person... I feel sorry for his new wife. Hopefully he's changed.

Good men don’t want a submissive woman, they want someone that listens, doesn’t cause unneeded stress, and respects them. Things any woman should want in a man as well. The other dynamics like who’s leading at any given time should be variable, but most women feel most attracted and comfortable with a man the takes the lead regularly.
