I think all guys can relate when I say the toughest part is that moment when your balls touch the cold water.. After that we are cruising.

You are a genius wim.... believe me I struggle with depression and anxiety.. so far no medication, diet changes or motivation helped.. 2 weeks into ice bath i feel like I am unshakable emotionally and motivated to do better things in my life. Awesome. Thanks again

To all of you who do this during the winter, or not whenever you are warm have my respect. I have only been able to do this during the summers lol. I'll try this time during autumn atleast.

I was listening to a podcast that said, “it’s important to live life by design rather than emotion. Basically, sticking to a routine is what allows us to be the healthiest version of ourselves (especially when you're fighting these demons ex. OCD for me).

I cannot figure out mediation no matter how hard I try but then I discovered Wim Hof and his breathing technique keeps me focused, it makes you so at peace and with clear thoughts. He recommends pairing it with cold showers, Initially I was wary of the cold until I heard Wim say that cold water is one of the only things that makes the mind go empty - and I realized he was right! So I started the cold showers and its been the magic that stops my anxious spirals.

On my youtube channel I try to take care of myself by journaling and studying on a routine. I complete these tasks despite how I may be feeling and grounding myself through Wim hofs breath work, is major reason why I've been able to stick my routine.

Thks wim for your merhod. I am 50 Old lady I begun this month With breathing tech and cold shower even if i have raynauds symptoms, i see Some little but positive results. I m focused on healling from scleroderma and short breathing. Thks a lot sir

My mini ice bath pool I ordered shipped this morning! I can't wait to start my ice baths! I've been doing 5 minute cold showers everyday for almost a month but I am looking forward to plunging and immersing myself in the cold experience.

So I've been contemplating for over a yr. Finally just went to farm and fleet and bought 100 gal. Plastic feed bin. Today was my 6th str8 day. Doing 3:00 minutes and I am shocked at how good I feel and also its not really that tough. I live in Chicagoland so just needed water because of the outside Temps. Hardest part is mentally saying OK let's go. Try it u will not regret it

I've been taking cold showers for 5 years. Yesterday finally decided to put ice in the tub. I was soooo motivated. 8pm. Didn't find any ice in any stores around. Put an ice bag into a 6 liter jar and poured water over my shoulders. The moment i find ice in the nearby store, will do it! Wim! There I go!

Most of those are true, except increased workout recovery.
More precisely research shows that, despite ice bath being more effective than cryotherapy in that regard, they aren't better than active recovery (such as cycling or jogging). We're not even sure that it actually decreases muscle soreness, but we know that it has a negative impact on muscle growth. These seem to be better suited for a pre workout, rather than after.
