I feel like people who get 7-8 hours of sleep, wake up at 6 am, exercise, and take cold showers, generally have their life together

hardest thing about taking cold showers is not telling people you take cold showers

I took freezing cold showers all through college. 6 years later and I still flinch

I tried this and my takeaway was that it turned one of my favorite moments of the day into an anxiety inducing one, and I shower in the morning so my days just started off bad for about a month.

I'll just stick to my hot showers and have those 5-10 minutes of supreme relaxation before I start my day.

I like to start warm and end cold. I use warm water for getting clean then do a thorough, cold-water rinse before drying off. I feel like the temperature differential is more beneficial than the cold water alone.

It teaches you to be comfortable with being uncomfortable as well.

Cold showers are great for things like boosting your metabolism, tightening your skin, smoother skin, and getting you awake. but it's bad if you're about to sleep. Because cold showers actually raise your body temperature (Because your body is trying to warm itself it, hence, the faster metabolism), and you want a low body temperature when going to sleep. Hot showers will lower your body temperature after you show, making you sleepy. So hot showers to go to sleep, cold showers to wake up.

Absolutely. The cold shower is an amazing thing. Not only is it refreshing as hell but that boost you get feels amazing.

I tried cold showers and the only difference with warm showers is comfort. You feel very uncomfortable showering like this. But after you're done, you feel a lot better than before

I take cold showers after waking up around 5 AM. I have been doing this for almost a year now and it changed my life. I used to overthink a lot but doing cold showers enabled me to train myself to avoid the “flinch” in many areas of my life. Also, I have been doing it for so long that I don’t hold my breath anymore and I just jump in and stay for at least 3 mins. I recommend this to anyone unless you have any medical condition that maybe triggered by the cold shower.

I usually end my shower with a shot of cold water. Really wakes me up in the morning.

I know someone who literally died from this lol
the sudden cold got to him and he passed away. But good luck with those self-help tricks that put people in danger.
