Neuroscientist explains how going at cold showers the wrong way would not have you reach your goals (if they were fat loss), unless you do it right, and in this context the right way to do it is to induce "shivering" which is the catalyst for fat loss.

It should be noted that, there are many benefits of cold showers and you can maximize each of them by taking cold showers in a specific way, this way is only meant for fat loss.

A tip for people starting cold showers;
First expose your legs and arms to the cold water, inhale than exhale and immediately step into the cold shower and control your breathing and you’re good to go!

Don't let this stop you I promise you if you keep your focus up you can control this it's more or so about pushing yourself hell even through life. I go everyday one time I was scared for my health it was snowing outside I watched some goggins and the shit he pushed through and it flicked a switch. I have now gone to the river for over a month and a half I'm more or so sad it's gonna get warmer and wish I started sooner because I wanna keep going. Think of the "what if" what if I push through this what if I can control my breathing and heart rate FOCUS meditate fix your mind and I promise life will get better.

I took my first cold shower in years last night and was definitely experiencing some shock. My breathing became erratic and I could feel my heart wigging out. I powered through it and managed to go about ten more minutes in which I lowered the temp more and more every couple minutes. The first 30 seconds was longer than the last 8 minutes even though by the very end the water was so cold that the water at the beginning would have felt warm. Maybe I pushed it too hard too soon. I’ll consider myself lucky and ease into it next time

This just crossed my mind after decades. From the time I was born till I move to sunny Southern California early 60s. I was out in the cold in the winter walking to school, sledding, playing in the snow occasionally getting wet or snow inside my clothes and having to inside.
This was the natural version of this cold shock treatment.

The best method for cold adaptation in my experience is to start with warm water for a bit then turn it in cold. After a while you will be able to resist the cold shock since your body adapts.

I stand in the warm water to wash my hair, once I'm done I immediately flip the switch to the coldest it can be and let every part of my body run under the water one by one for atleast a min

For depression I fill my tub everyday with water as cold as the faucet will allow then add 20 pounds of ice from the store. 5-10 min a day of that really gets you going! All the Love all the Power

Been doing this daily. Plus daily cold walks. I think I'm cold adapted now, coz I can walk 20 minutes in -35C and not shiver. My clothes aren't very thick.

Controlling your breath during a cold shower is key. I usually do two nose inhales and exhale from the mouth once. It’s a good tempo for me.

Im on day 4 and have taken 5 cold showers. I plan on doing it morning and afternoon from here on.

I started the first couple times with luke warm to comd for 1 minute then out.

Today i did warm 3 mins then cold 1 min for three times total then out on cold.

I put the shower head on my upper back only, not neck and head. I stay still and focus on breathing. Next ill work on being able to move the water around my body but i dread that thinking about it

Tip: Just start with your wrists and ankles so your body won’t be shocked as easily and you yourself will know if you can handle that temperature.
