This was so inspiring, I've always hated running but now I'm tempted to try it. You broke it down into such manageable steps, especially the part about going slow.

I could never understand how people enjoyed cardio exercises as someone who easily blacks out from anything that required endurance since I was a kid. I also have a history of anemia so it's been so difficult. But lately I've been thinking about wanting to overcome that limiting belief and actually give running a shot. When I heard "to go far, go slow" it like flipped a switch in my head like "wait you can do that ??" and that was a game-changer for me. So thanks for sharing your experience! It resonated a lot with me. Just did my second run this morning, and I'm enjoying and learning a lot. Can't wait for my third this week! I'm using the Nike Run Club guided runs :)

I’ve always wanted to start running! Every time I look at someone running they look like they are in a euphoric state. I have a larger chest and even if I have to wear two sports bras I’m going to do it!

I used to run when I was 17. I was not great at it but I kinda enjoyed it. I'm 27 now and I'm so afraid of running. I gained quite a lot of weight over the years so two months ago or so I really got back into a fitness routine.
I started doing more cardio and that became easier to me. I love swimming but I think I also want to start running in nature again. This video was really helpful and motivating. :)

I know this is an older video, but the information is so relevant! I’ve never considered myself a runner, never ever! But five weeks ago I decided to train for a 10K that will happen over the 4th of July. I appreciate the advice you shared! Keep the videos coming!

Biologist here: it’s aerobic to anaerobic - anaerobic respiration is the lack of the oxygen.

i wanted to say thank you so much for making this video. i've been running since february but i felt like i barely made progress because i mostly ran once a week and i can only run for 5 minutes at most. i've started to run twice a week and have been part of a running group but last week with this group was so difficult to the point i was doubting myself. i was the slowest and the only one struggling, i think i was running for 15 minutes straight and i didn't even enjoy it, i felt so discouraged seeing how i was compared to the other runners. ive signed up to a 5k race too so it really messed with my confidence for it. this video gave me some hope and i want to actually try enjoy running more without feeling pressure and pushing myself way too much. thank you for being real, its nice to see someone taking their time with running rather than pushing themselves way too much

I am a beginner runner too! The biggest challenge for me is what to think about while I’m running, especially in the first & second kilometre.

I have been running my whole like and sneakers is the most important thing to avoid injuries and then clothing that is comfortable on you. I learned what I like by testing different things. But once you have these things and some good music. Running is the best to stay fit and feel great.

this vid literally popped up just as I verbally brought up the idea of getting into running/jogging with my brother, something I've been deliberating starting for some time now lmao, so I feel like this a sign, we have to try it now!! 💪

This was really helpful. Iv always been relatively fit but never liked cardio. Iv just started running and I’m so bad a 5km run without stopping sounds great to me. I’m stopping every 0.5km atm 😅 how embarrassing

During the work week I go for a run when I get off work at 11pm! So it’s completely dark but it’s nice and cool.

During the weekend when I’m off I go for one long run during the day

When I go after work I run through town (because it’s dark and we get wild animals)
During my long run I do a trail run during the day (because I can see if there’s any animals that are around me)

I've been practicing running more lately since I want to get faster and develop stronger lungs. I've been going to these things known as Park-Runs on and off for 5 years (Mostly walking lol) and there are so many in Australia! Pretty sure some around Brisbane too, and they all go for 5kms! It's awesome going because you meet so many people, whether beginners or not and it's interesting hearing so many tips.. I'm gonna try out some of your recommendations for the next time I go for a run! :)
