I started running exactly 7 days ago and the only reason I started running was to be fit, have a better stamina for football and I'm finding it really challenging but at the same time I loved it and I wanna go deeper in running, thank you for the tips and motivation♥️

“Change the way you measure success.” So grateful for your encouragement, Nico! Also, super inspiring to know you only started running seriously a couple years ago. It’s helpful to know that lots of progress can be made in a short amount of time with consistency and hard work.

I've been running for about 6 weeks. I started because I'm 48, 50lbs overweight, and very out of shape. Over the last 10 years I've started uncounted fitness programs. This is what they usually amounted to: Strength 3 days per week, cardio 2 days per week, get on a good diet. Goals: Get strong, lose weight, get in shape. What ended up happening was 1-4 weeks in I'd burn out, get injured or just feel like a failure because I hadn't lost weight or accomplished any of those nebulous goals.

This time, I did something totally different. Three goals: 1. Run a minimum of three days per week. 2. Get better at running. 3. Don't get hurt.

And something amazing has happened. I'm succeeding! I don't know if I've lost weight and I don't care. That wasn't a goal. I've averaged 3.4 runs per week so super successful there. I started out running a total of 12minutes with two walking breaks spread between running and now I'm up to a total of 26 minutes running with only 4 minutes of walking. So I'm getting a LOT better at running. And I haven't hurt myself.

Most importantly for the first time in my life I'm enjoying running. Not every run. Some are good and some less good. But at least half the time I finish and I think, "Damn! That was awesome. You killed it Corwin!" And that feeling of accomplishment and success will keep me going on this path when I've fallen by the wayside so many other times in my life.

(And pre-empting all the people who will tell me I need to add strength or do this or that in order to get the most out of running. Yeah. You are right. This isn't an "optimal" plan. But I'd much rather have a plan that I continue to do than a more complicated and "better" one that leads me to do nothing.)

I came across your Youtube shorts and you've truly inspired me to start my running journey as well. I've never been good at running, never liked it but always wanted to get into it. Thank you for sharing your journey and tips with us, your video quality is incredible!

No hate but this was a very hard video to watch if your objective is to learn how to be a runner because the camping and family stuff in my opinion is mixed up with the actual running tips and its just hard to get the information when its mixed with other things.sorry just pointing it out

Started couch to 5K - big goal is half marathon but stepping into with 5K then 10k then half. Got fitted for shoes and WOW the difference in just cranking out 3 miles with my Brooks is night and day. The bounce, stability and cushioning made it comfortable and fun. You really are good at this - thx for sharing your journey

Once I came across you on shorts, you were such a motivator for me. I find myself so much more accountable for my runs and I am excited to train for my xc season this summer.

Thanks for the motivation! I’m a super beginner and training for my first 5k in a few months. I’m still walking/running together but I’m being consistent and I’m excited about running ❤ these tips were awesome 👍

Great advice! I’m 41, a mom of 2, and a former D3 basketball player. I ruptured my Achilles about 7 months ago. I decided after that that I’m going to become a runner. I always hated running, like you, and would go as hard as possible. Going slow has been huge. Not only can I go longer but I am actually enjoying it. Some people have made comments about how slow I’m running but I have to go easy (still rehabbing) and I want to go slow and build up. You’re half my age so I wish I figured it out sooner but better late than never.

The quality of your videos is amazing 🙌🏽 just started running about 2 weeks ago. I’m trying to move up to at least 4 miles of run/walk but in this Texas weather it’s hard 😩
