This channel did not help me start running, but it has certainly helped me keep running. I've now ran at least once a week for the last 3 months and after the initial difficulties of trying to stay motivated for the first few weeks, its now got to the point that I look forward to running. Started of struggling with 2km run, now 'easy' run is a 5k, but I've done a few 7k runs without rest, which to me was unimaginable 3 months ago.

My number one tip for beginners is to do a proper warm-up. It helps loads!

Went for my first run today, after a long time. It was difficult but feels great once you've finished!

I would like to share on how I started my running. 2 years ago I said to myself I wish to go outside more enjoyable. I liked hiking, backpacking, and fishing (since my family is a fishing culture). I started to do my runs on a treadmill using a intetval session. Weeks later I incorporated rows, push-ups, planks, and squat-calf raise, utilizing just the basics. I lost 20 pounds last year. Then no way I lost another 10 pounds today just doing strength training. Its winter and I lost 10 pounds!

I'm following a half marathon plan, and was doing my "long" run (5 miles this week). My form started to feel like crap, then I remembered coach holly saying to throw in high knees and butt kicks periodically. It totally worked, my legs felt fresher each time and I felt energized. For about 10 seconds lol

thank you for touching on a dynamic warm up, before getting into your run.., it is so often overlooked.., oh just start running., nah.., get shoes first .., get outside.., blood flow, dynamic warm up ... and run/walk is so doable.., ppl think they need to do 30 minutes, off the rip., feel terrible, and quit.

Awesome thanks I needed to see this type of thing, I start running again tomorrow but won’t push as hard I haven’t run for 6 weeks due to crippling knee pain after my 5k PB, though it also happened a few months before, hoping it will eventually adjust, to much office based and home based computers not moving everything has seized up :). I have one of those rollers and a massage ball thingy. I am a very heavy stepper I will try smaller steps as you suggest, normally I thump and can feel the shock. Thank you!

That was a great video. I’m not new to running but still enjoyed it. It’s worth it just for the view.. what a nice neighbourhood. You guys are pressuring me into buying the membership on your app.

Hearfelt thanks @The Run Experience.. really helped getting me started on running and keeping me going! Loved your tip on improving posture during run. Imagining the band around the waist is something I religiously follow and seen some marked results! 🙌

I’ve just started running and it really sucks! lol Been really inactive over lockdown and my fitness is in the toilet but doing run walk run it’s slowly coming back. I’m probably trying to do a bit too much, doing 2min run 1.30min walk and doing that for 45mins covering around 3.5-4miles. Hip flexors and Achilles are a problem so definitely going to include these warmup exercises.

Great tips. What would happened if you used the same pair of shoes for every run (speed, flat, long, hill)? (aside from a faster worn out). I usually have 2 pair of shoes at a time, generally of the same type, like for roads (also changing once in a while the more worn of course). Am I heading into some pain/damage of muscles in a later time? Thanks.
