How to avoid an argument

Submariners often spend days and weeks in a confined space with very little privacy. In those environments it’s imperative that any potential disagreements are handled with care and understanding. Here the commanding officer of a Swedish submarine on NATO exercise Dynamic Monarch gives his advice on how to avoid arguments and settle disputes from 90 metres below the North Sea.

During Dynamic Monarch, the world’s most challenging submarine rescue exercise, Allies test various complex submarine rescue systems. The exercise is designed to test the ability of Allied naval forces to operate effectively together and streamline rescue operations in the most challenging of environments, where reaction time and specialist equipment are key to saving lives.

That's unwritten rules on US subs and probably every sub. And is enforced by the crew to get young ones to understand their new world.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are Italian, none of those tips will work. Why? We don't understand tip #1 and #2. Period. I don't know how they work things out in a sub. I am a civilian on dry land and there can never be enough space.
