Brazilian vs Portugal Portuguese

The differences between Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese. This is the first part since I couldn't fit it all into one short!

european portuguese has very muted vowels, while brazilian portuguese all vowels are long and clear.

I’m fascinated by the differences between Brazilian Portuguese and Portugal Portuguese because i live in an area where we have large immigrant populations of both Brazilians and Portuguese. I have a Brazilian aunt(and by extension a bunch of Brazilian family) and my wife is Portuguese. Very fascinating stuff and lovely people!

People in the comments should know that yes, it would be a huge generalisation to assume that this works everywhere in Portugal and in Brazil, but it works perfectly for Brasília and Lisbon, as stated in the video :)

As a Brazilian I have to say that whilst not all parts of Brazil have this pronunciation, I pronounce all these words like you said a Brazilian would pronounce them.
Edit: yes, I am aware that he took into consideration Brasília. I'm just here to give out an opinion.

Hello, I'm from the state of Pernambuco in Brazil and here due to the Portuguese influence we have some of these characteristics of Portuguese from Portugal We have some characteristics in our Portuguese that you mentioned in the video, and Pernambuco is the oldest state in Brazil

Recifense dialect actually has both european pronunciations, but the S might sound sometimes as a J/Zh like in mesmo (mayzhmoo)

In some parts of Brazil, like Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Florianópolis, Pará and Amapá states, the pronunciation of the "s" in the end of a syllable is also "sh".

A note is that "mente" pronounced as "menche" is pretty awkward, if I were to say words ending in "te" and "de" I would make the "e" an "i" or even exclude the final vowel
Example:
Mente > menchee/mench
Dente > denchee/dench
The sounds D and T are never J and Tch before any consonant other than "i" respectively

Nonetheless, if you say "mente" as "mente" or other words in this cluster is completely fine, it's that we are likely to not sound like it.

For an english speaker, your pronunciation is quite good. Not exactly there, but closer than I've ever heard a non-native speaker pronounce the words (yes, I'm including spanish people there). Good effort.

I worked with a very multinational group of people and when bored with work the Spanish people and Mexican people would discuss differences in their languages. Then occasionally they'd find a word that is different in Mexican spanish from Spanish Spanish but its actually in Portuguese. Then a Brazilian guy would point out they use the Spanish word for it, as if Mexico and Brazil swapped their words for it.
