Good Self Care Habits
Показать описание
How are you with feelings; yours or someone else’s?
(I’m talking about the ones that don’t feel comfortable like sadness, grief, hurt, shame and anger).
ALL OF YOUR FEELINGS ARE IMPORTANT.
If you suppress your feelings it could lead to a higher risk of depression, high blood pressure and heart disease.
Also in the desire to ‘not feel’, there’s often a coping strategy, e.g. emotional eating, binge drinking, numbing out in front of to the TV etc, and I’ve done them all!
Check out this video "Good Self Care Habits", to learn why feeling your feelings is so important. (See more links below)

What I’ve learned is that feelings are like an internal compass. If you acknowledge your compass and let it guide you, it can steer you in the right direction and help you make better decisions and connect more deeply with yourself and others.
I was told recently that “The deeper you can feel sadness, the deeper you can feel joy”. Imagine that. I’d say that’s well worth having. Would you?
Make sure you have good people around you that you can talk to about the things that really matter to you? People that will listen without judgement or the desire to ‘rescue you’?
When you can drop down in to your feelings, rather than be in your head about it, the feeling will shift.
“You’ve gotta feel it to heal it!”
