Which one do you already do, and which one would you like to start doing from now on? 🤗💕

Vera, I’m a 73 year old lady and your wisdom always amazes me! I’ve lived long enough to know the truth about most of the things you mentioned but it impresses me when a young person has this all figured too! I appreciate your insight and your willingness to share with others. Thank you!

When my husband died I would fall asleep thinking of things I was thankful for in my life. It really helped me get through the pain.

I lost my smell and taste 4 years ago. And I appreciate you reminding people to appreciate that, because most people take those senses for granted. ❤

Watching this as I eat dinner. Fish sticks, Brussels and brown rice.
I'm 64 and I really need to do alot more self care. I work 20 hours a week at a hotel.
Already love this channel.

My morning routine lately has been waking up slowly, spending a few minutes petting my cat who is usually pressed up against my body. It's a lovely way to start the day.

this morning, I wrote in my journal how I am grateful for the cold winter weather. I am happy for that fact that I can sit and drink my coffee, tea or cocoa. Binge holiday movies, make homemade soups and stews, enjoy crafting because I don't have to tend to outdoor chores, etc. My husband and I had to do our monthly run around last Friday. I drove this day and I love Christmas music, so I had it on the radio. About the last stop we had to make, he reached over and turned it off saying "can we just turn this s@#$ off now?" It really hurt me that he had to do it like that. He knows I love this time of year, I get emotional very easy because I am so full of joy. I am crying now just thinking of it. I am not a religious person, but I do try to live a more grateful life now. It takes so much energy to get angry over stupid drivers, rude humans, etc. Sorry I went off track, I just connected right away when you said you liked the rainy cold weather. Stay well Vera. ❤

I start my day by writing in my gratitude diary 10 things I'm grateful for (it does get repetitious, but heck). Then I read a bit, or watch some of my favourite videos. Yours are one of them. I dress, make my bed, and do some light exercise, then start the day. I do this about 95% of the time.

Hi Vera. Thanks for this video. Many years ago, a yoga teacher started adding a self-hug to our routine, and it definitely felt physically good. But that's all I felt, because it was quick and my mood was already fine. More recently, I have been going through some pretty intense personal stuff, and one day I was simply bawling and there was no one I could turn to for a hug, and so I tried hugging myself. I immediately felt a bit comforted, so I hugged my self tighter and allowed myself to just keep crying, and I comforted myself emotionally the way I would for my children or someone else I deeply care about. It was so helpful!! It really DID comfort me. ♥

Yes, I have hugged myself. At my darkest moment where I no longer would wonder" Is there anyone there for me?" That burned, yet as the smoke began to clear I realized that I was there for me so I kissed my shoulders, held myself and saw the road I was to take next.

My parents are Dutch as well. I actually do these very same things throughout the day. It’s nice to see that I’m not alone in my routines!

I no longer need to show off “collectable figurines” in display cases. I try not to collect useless souvenirs from vacations. My exception is Christmas Tree Ornaments. I write on the back (or on a sticker) where I was and who I was with. Often, I’d buy two - say one I like + one my husband would like. Now that we are preparing to divorce, I’ve sorted the travel tree ornaments into a hers pile and a his pile. This is a wonderful channel 😊

I am like you, I NEED to take time in the morning, something that puzzles my husband ;-) I need to meditate, journal, stretch, exercise, drink water, tea and then I am ready to have a great day. Although I am much older than you, your experience helps me understand better and accept my "needs" so thank you for your openness.

I enjoy watching aquarium or ocean videos with soothing music. My three year old does as well. It’s so relaxing to watch the colorful fish swim around and the music helps me breath deeper and slower.
I liked all your tips and I don’t think there is anything embarrassing about enjoying your skin. It’s the largest organ humans have and it has so many nerve endings. People need touch, it makes us feel so good.

I didn't know hugging yourself was a thing that other people did. A few years ago I discovered that hugging myself as I'm drifting off to sleep was very comforting. A good nights sleep is important to me so I developed a few habits that work for me. Thank you for the reminders and new ideas as well for self care.
