This video is such a great reminder for us to be mindful of our mental and emotional well-being. I feel like a big part of healing and growth is about learning to become a *BFF, big sister/brother to ourselves* . To BE that person that loves, respects, and accepts ourselves wholeheartedly.

Something that resonated with point 8, at least for me, is that I came to the realization that it is not just not being hard on myself but actively trying to treat myself as someone I care about and the most important part about that for me was making amends with myself. I have chronic depression and for very long periods of my life I stopped taking care of myself completely and by that I mean I didn't shower, I didn't eat, I didn't brush my teeth, I barely moved (from my bed to my home office and that was it) and now that I am getting better, I sort of found out that I was hopeless about myself. I didn't think I was able to get better because I had done me wrong many times! (Depression is a mental illness but it makes you kind of turn yourself against you). What clicked was that point I made about making amends. I always tried to remind myself that everything I did came from dark moments and that I forgived myself. But, if you think about anyone else, you don't just say sorry; you show it, you try to make things different in order to show that person that you cared about them and that you are sorry about what you did. So I started doing that. Everyday I take some time to practice my selfcare wild cards (I have 7 and so I do one each day) to show myself that I really care, that I really want to put in the effort like taking an extra shower that day that is super relaxing (sort of to make up for the ones I didn't take) or like doing something on my nails like filling them or giving myself a mani, or taking time to prepare a delicious meal from scratch to show myself love in that way. Anyways, I think you get the point. Basically... forgive yourself AND make amends with yourself in any way you can!

I’m gonna try to be more gentle with myself 💗 I have never thought of it as a habit that needs to be build, until you talked about it. I am so hard on myself and I always have been. Everyone around me always tells me how hard I am on myself & I’m so used to it that I don’t even realize it at times. My mental health has been the worst for years and definitely in the past year. I know I have to work on it in order to live a happier life. But somehow making that step to truly choose recovery and heal is still so hard for me. It’s hard to let the depression go 😔 But I’m going to try to implement the habit of being kind and loving to myself ❤️ thankyou for this video!!💗

I am crying right now and decided to watch a video of yours because I always feel better after watching you. I am the breadwinner of my family and it could be tiring sometimes, especially when I want to buy something for myself or treat myself. I cannot always prioritize myself because my family needs me.
