Planning a ski trip to Japan? The best time to ski in Japan is based on an individuals preferences. In this video, I’ll break down the best times to visit for:

1) Powder snow chasers
2) Budget travelers
3) Holiday periods to avoid

Keep in mind that this video is about the typical seasons but weather patterns changes quickly. The information that I'm using is based on historical averages however, there are always uncertainties with timing. Hey Matt, your guide was really good. It compares pretty closely to what we see around here (Colorado). The best days to ski here are Mondays and Tuesdays (if you can do that). Avoid weekends, and anything from Thanksgiving through the Christmas holidays. Enjoy the season! BTW I was surprised at the number of Ski Areas you have in Japan.

I am a Japanese. I went to Appi, Iwate from late December 2023 to January 2, 2024. The snow was wonderful but there were so many tourists especially from China. Their behaviors, such as cutting lines, loud voiced and shorten the distances, have become a big problem. In addition, the prices of food, rental stuff and lifts were so high. I hope tourists to keep them in
