My dad use to do this crap all the time growing up. It screwed my mum because i was suppose to be with her but weekly and we were pretty poor at the time so usually she would work really long days during the week I was gone so she could afford to feed the both of us but she could do that when my dad would just dip for weeks on end. There was one time I only saw him for two separate weeks in a six month time frame. My mom suffered a lot in that time and had to work odd jobs on top of her 9-5 just to feed us.

Jesus, Laura. I'm so sorry you're going through this craziness. My ex is an addict and I know what it's like, far right conspiracy bullshit and all. People who criticize you are lucky they don't know and have never had to deal with someone they care about and the father of their kid's personality completely changing on them. It's devestating and once you finally do come to terms with it having to deal with them regularly is so damn mentally taxing.
