Sadly, I don't think he's hurt about losing Christine as much as he's had his ego bruised and is feeling humiliated about being rejected . But he made no real effort to let Christine know she was loved and he did not want to lose her.

She knew the minute he stayed with Robin instead of being with his daughter during her spinal surgery…she was done. My son had the same exact surgery at the same time. How could any true father not be there when their child’s spine gets cut open from top to bottom?! My husband never left his side! It’s a difficult surgery…especially when you hear the risks.
