My cat refuses to be trained. He knows it's training. He will do anything once, maybe twice. Then curse and walk off.

THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO GET YOUR CAT TO DO A HANDSHAKE AND IT WORKS.
(Please pin me)

First, you need to ensure that your cat is in a stading position( the back paws are are seated an it stands with its front paws).
You need to make sure that cat is calm so that it doesn't run away.

Then, place your hand under its chin(It may get annoyed, sorry for that) so if it tries to bite you, it can't, because your hand is below the chin. After it understands that your hand can't be removed by biting, it will try to get your hand down by its right or left paw. THAT'S WHEN YOU SHIFT YOUR FOCUS TO ITS PAW, AMD YOU DID A HANDSHAKE AND THE CAT WAS THE ONE TO REACH ITS HAND FIRST!

Its the only way which hardly needs any training, but can be done in the above circumstances. Hope it helps!❤
