I usually just use a clicky pen instead of a proper clicker, my cat doesn't seem to know the difference anyway so it's a win for the both of us.

I feel like my cat will be more interested in learning how to effectively slap me when I don’t give in to what she wants, before she learns how to high five 😂😂

Solid advice. I'm currently owned by seven cats and like their predecessors they all quickly picked up on phrases, words, sounds, and gestures.

Plus the clicker (I use my tongue). If I precede the click with a name, I get that cat's attention. If I do five to seven rapid clicks without a name every cat in the room focuses on me and usually they approach, waiting to see what's up.

Two are harness trained, and two younger ones are still in training. The outdoors is full of stimulation so it takes a bit longer to get them into that routine.

Cats are extremely smart and if given attention will seek to please. We've never had any who knocked things over, scratched at good furniture, et cetera. They want to see us happy because we keep them happy and safe.

Great! But my Jack was sitting close to me while I was watching… “Where is my treat?!” 😂 The question was clear. Click and treat… 😊

I started doing your training methods with my 4 year old Bengal, and within a week he began to regularly seek this training time with me.

He is catching on so fast I can’t keep up, and have to come back and learn more here to teach him.

You have Revolutionized what was an already good relationship with my Bengal - Thank you!!!

My Bengal and I will probably be doing this indefinitely

Thank you so much for making this content. You are awesome!

I have two kitties (domestic cats) that I'm teaching these tricks to and it's so fun for me and them. You've answered so many questions I had. Thank you!

Just tried it on my cat and she kept trying to touch it with her nose instead of her paw. But after a few tries it worked and now she always go for the paw. Thank you! What other trick is simple to teach?

“I’ll assume your clicker is charged” looks at my clicky pen “yup, it’s charged”

Your channel is amazing! I am starting training but one thing is not clear to me. Once your cat knows the trick do you have to keep using the clicker every time she does the trick? One more question, if our cat knows how to do a trick with me, will it also work with other people like my daughters for example?

It's really funny and interesting how easy it is to teach a cat a few tricks, while my cat over here is just not interested. She doesn't even want to sit in front of me becouse of a treat, if I don't give it to her right away, nah man she is outta there

Hi Albert, I'm having a lot of trouble with the high five trick. My cat licks my hand holding the treat and grabs my hand with his paw. He's trying to get the treat with his mouth not his paw. Help please!

Where did you get those nice wall bridge & shelves.

I am afraid to confuse my cat by using the open hand, which I also use for the command "stay".
If I am not mistaken, you also use the same gesture for that. How do you make sure she understands the difference?
The voice command difference alone does not seem to do the trick - and she is showing to be much slower learning this (having associated the open hand to: do nothing), than other complex tricks like hopping on the shoulder.

Hi Albert & Mia. I find your videos great as every training is accompanied with a unique hand gesture which helps my cat Pippin understand the instructions. He already knows high-five, sit, lie down, kisses and that in just one week. He loves training. I wonder if you could do a video on teaching "fetch" please?

Just a little tip: normalize the volume, it's annoying to have to turn up the volume to hear your voice well enough and have those loud sound effects
