For 2 months dry eyes I had. Very uncomfortable. I bought systane preservative free plus starting takeing vitamin a. Along with that fish oil vitamin. To my surprise one evening my eyes watered and dry eyes vanished. I think my routine opened up ducts and I haven't used even one eye drops now for 2 months. I am so very grateful. Hope this helps everybody.

Hey! You're probably reading this because you suspect having dry eye syndrome. I want to help you out cause I've been suffering from this for about 7 days now and it's honestly really scary. I did a lot of research and I want to save you the time of doing the same.

Chronic dry eye syndrome is a condition in which your eye cannot retain moisture probably because your tear production slowed down. As a result of this, you start facing symptoms such as:

Symptoms:

-> Red veins in your eyes.
-> Irritation or burning in your eyes.
-> Grittiness (a feeling that is very similar to having a sand grain stuck in your eye).
-> Watery eyes.
-> Episodes of slightly blurry vision.

Rare symptoms:

-> Eye fatigue.
-> Inflammation or swelling of eyelids.

Causes:

-> Hormonal changes.
-> Crying too much.
-> Increased screen time.
-> Dehydration.
-> Environmental factors such as heat, lack of moisture.

Note:

Another thing I want to mention is that it's VERY EASY TO MISTAKE DRY EYE SYNDROME FOR CONJUNCTIVITIS.

It's honestly quite easy to differentiate between them, stand in front of a mirror and look at your eye from the side, you may notice very less tears in them, technically, your eye is dry, you have dry eye syndrome, not something else.

You may notice that your dry eye gets worse for a while when you get stressed, this is because stress irritates your eyes and makes dry eye worse. If this happens just distract yourself, go on a walk with someone.

If you're scared of getting Haemolacria (crying blood) from crying too much, note that it's NOT POSSIBLE unless you go through serious trauma such as deaths or car accidents. Just stop crying for a while. You'll just get dry eye from crying too much and not Haemolacria.

I have abusive parents and I don't know how to tell them I've been crying too much, if you're facing the same, just know that you shouldn't use contact lenses instead of eye drops, they contain preservatives and worsen dry eye. Don't put tap water in your eye either, hardness of water is harmful to your eyes too. Maybe try looking for eye exercises and follow this video.

Mine only flares up whenever I start itching my eyes because of allergies, itching and rubbing feels amazing but you'll literally regret it three seconds after, what works for me is litterally making my eyes tear by holding it wide open without blinking, it will hurt at first but it works guaranteed

Stop rubbing your eyes !
I have vitreous detachment because of rubbing my eyes. a year ago, my eyes were very dry and itchy so I started to rub them till I felt a severe pain in my right eye(like a cut). next morning, I started to see squiggly lines floating inside my eye (which really affected my vision) and noticed flashes in the side of it. I’m trying to ignore those lines but it’s difficult to focus on objects. I have never been advised to avoid rubbing eyes by any doctor I’ve visited!

Similisan Complete Eye Relief has helped me a lot without side effects. The over the counter eye drops caused my eyes to swell up. My doc thought it might be the preservatives in the eye drops. She tried to stop me from using the Simisalan by stating wrong info and then tried to sell some over priced vitamins. I am sticking with my Simisalan because it works for me along with my omegas and vitamin D3.

Thanks for the video. I went to an eye specialist due to this and apparently sleeping on your stomach can compress your eyelid glands as well.

I remember waking up in the middle of the night not able to even open my eyes at first but finally getting them open only to feel like it was sand in them. One of the worst feelings and I didn't even want to go back to sleep afterwards.
Now that Im starting tk feel like my eyes are getting try again I started uaing eyedrops. Perhaps I should use a eyemask as well and it should help.
