Red light therapy, also known as Low Level Light Therapy or Photobiomodulation, is emerging as a promising approach in the field of eye care, offering potential benefits for various ocular conditions. Deep red light therapy for eyes, which involves the use of wavelengths typically between 600-1000 nanometers, has garnered significant interest due to its non-invasive nature and the growing body of supportive research.

Red light therapy for dry eyes is a great area of interest. Red Light therapy or Low Level Light Therapy has shown to improve tear gland function and improving tear production. In addition, the photobiomodulation effect has aided in helping improved function of the meibomian glands in some studies.

As research continues to evolve, it will be crucial to closely monitor the outcomes and establish standardized protocols to maximize the benefits of this innovative therapy.

Additionally, please be careful about using any over-the-counter red light therapy devices on or around the eyes. Especially if they are not designed to be used for the eyes. If the device is not the correct wavelength, the correct power density or the correct fluence, there could be a risk for vision loss or harm.

I appreciate that you're willing to keep up with new research and technologies. I've found that many doctors in all fields get stuck in their ways and poo poo new treatments. They don't even look into it.

Thank you for this information. I do have a MitoPro 1500 red light body panel. 660nm (Red) and 830nm / 850nm (Near Infrared). It is from Mito red light therapy based out of Phoenix. I have not used it consistently, however I do use the goggles they provided. I stand about 3-6" away.
I asked my Drs. about it, they saw no problem with me using it.
Looking forward to what you discover in your research.

Summary of this video: We should all have access to a doctor like you in our area! Sadly where I live, Milan, I have had extremely neglected care for my dry eyes (in private care, probably even worse in public). Having had this problem since I was a teenager and knowing I´m not the only one (my son is the same), it really annoys me to be told it´s age related (being over 40), use some eye drops and that´s it. Since there´s inflammation I´ve been prescribed local corticosteroids to take for short, recurrent, periods of time. That helps a lot, but worries me for longterm problems. Recently I was in a fantastic eye clinic in Delhi, India, by chance because I had a very bad eye infection, and got prescribed a medication for dry eyes that I´d never heard of before, Restatis, and it seems interesting. I´ve not searched through your content yet to see if you have talked about this type of medication, I´d love to hear your opinion. As for red light, not having any doctor who offers it, I use my own skincare device very cautiously, short time (max 1 minute before moving it to another area) and with eyes closed.

Omega 3 increase for 3 months before thinking about this or alongside it.
Red light won't fix a bad diet.

Thanks for the great video! At 46, I've seen amazing results with an affordable red light therapy panel from Future Form Official for my dry eyes. The therapy has significantly improved my eye comfort, and the results are fantastic. Red light therapy is scientifically backed, so it's worth trying. Thanks again!

The good thing about the situtation is that a spectrometer can tell you which wavelenghts a device emits. It should be easy to test devices and share the outcomes with dry eye patients !

Save you watching this video. Get as much sunlight as possible, it's the best light and the only one you need. If your region lacks sunlight, get a 15$ Phillips 250W incandescent near infrared light bulb and shine it for maximum 10 min at a time ~3 times a day at minimum 30cm distance

I’ve had IPL several times. It worked so well after the first 4-session treatment. Then it never worked again.

Do you know of any contraindicated conditions for this, such as being at risk of acute narrow angle glaucoma? Thanks.

I sit on my balcony and let the morning sun shine on my face with closed eyes, and that gives me all the near infrared exposure to benefit my eyes for free! Ten wonderful relaxing minutes is all we need, it’s heavenly! ☺️
