I was living with dry irritated eyes for years and I presumed there wasn’t much I could do about it. Then I started taking doxycycline for my rosacea and within a day or two I felt wow, my eyes have never felt so healthy and look way less irritated! From then I realised I had MGD, ocular rosacea and allergic conjunctivitis, and have now tried some of the other treatments and things feel so much better.

YES! Eyelid hygiene is so important. Daily use of an antimicrobial lid and lash cleanser (like Avenova) removes bad bacteria and relieves chronic eye issues like dry eye, blepharitis, MGD, contact lens irritation, and more! Thanks so much for including us 😁

Noticed that blinking while look down with head bent downwards is more effective to stimulate tear formation when the eye is dry, even more effective when i also chew something at the same time. idk why but if i just blink with head up i can blink for a long time and the dye remains completely dry whereas the other way i not only get my blinking exercises done but also stimulate the tear glands for some reason. it’s a win win.

GREAT content. BETTER than any eye care professional ever provided. I went to MidWestern University Eye Institute in Glendale AZ. Their level of service & equipment was incredible compared to professional practices. They took their time as well to properly fit Scalera lenses (I cash paid b/c insurance at the veterinary hospital where I was employed, was too costly). From there, The Dry Eye Shop in Washington state has amazing product information. Lastly, DIET, DIET, DIET! This is a game changer. It's about eating, or what to avoid, that helps. American grocery stores unfortunately have MANY products that are the cause of illnesses. Good🍀Luck friends!

the insane thing is almost all of these are out of pocket expenses, and extremely expensive. I have dropped easily 15k out of pocket on my post-lasik dry eye in the last 2 years.

Great video! Thank you! Many prescription drugs can cause dry eye. Of course, the chance of needing Rxs as people age increases and those are the people who eventually need cataract surgery. I was just surprised that was not mentioned. I am not encouraging anyone to stop taking their meds, but they should consult with the prescribing doctor if they think a RX might be the cause of their dry eyes.

Thank you so much for making this video! Yesterday I took a gram and a half of Omega 3’s and wiped my lids and my eyes were much less dry and painful. This was a very helpful and inspiring video… Saved me from having to use Restasis,

yes I agree omega 3 is one of the way the way to go.
I was eating fish 5 times a week yet it was not enough to help with my dry eyes so i finally took 2 grams of omega 3 every day, and if eat meat I take an extra 3 grams. so all together I take 4 to 5 grams a day and that fixed my dry eyes of many years. i am 78, my diet is low in sugar and i exercise at least 5 days a week.

I am currently using Restasis twice a day. I have great results but hearing the comment about the cost over time, I calculated that over the past 12 years, if I used the drops as directed, my insurance company and I would have spent $97, 000.00 on this treatment and I need to use them for the rest of my life. Since my doctor told me I could use one dropper a day for both AM and PM doses, that does save half of the cost.

This is how I ended my dry eye watery eyes after 3 years - (my daily regimen):
1 - 1 x Vitamin A 5000 IU capsule
2 - 3 x High strength Omega-3 Fish Oil capsules
3 - (at night) Rub/massage Organic Castor Oil on top and bottom eyelids, and also along the rim of the eyelids (Use cold-pressed, hexane free castor oil)
4 - (in the morning) Gently clean/wash (just with soap) the eyes/eyelids
This takes all of 60 seconds per day! Get decent quality products, the cost is minimal (the supplements are good for you and the castor oil is also great for your skin).

Similasan eye drops are the best. Eyebright in some of them. I suck up castor oil, colloidal silver up inside for added benefits..

Will you consider doing a video on the effects of Sjorgens in the eyes?
I have a rather severe case, my eyes are so dry and irritated I can barely see.
I currently take only helps a little.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you.

I also was curious why autologous serum eye drops were not included in this video. It’s something that I use & think is very helpful.
