One time at a train station in Poland, Zielona Góra i believe, I went to use the toilet and I didn’t see anyone there, although there was a sign on the door saying “something something 4 zł”, but I just went in anyway. Then when I got out, this little red haired lady started yelling at me in polish… I don’t speak polish. It was truly one of the scariest moments of my life.

In Europe we pay at a turnstyle at the WC entrance. However: you are issued a token for the same amount to spend in the restaurant/store.
