This is unrealistic. The patient could read the doctors handwriting - that's like never the case.

at 10 years you forgot casually getting 5 days off for a small cough

Fun fact: because I do have a chronic condition it was always very easy for me to get appointments, medicines, exams in Germany.

True story. I just did not take a sick day off the first year because I had no idea how to get an immediate appointment with doctor for the sick note 😂

Not everywhere in Germany.
I grew up in a little village (roundabout 300 souls) and when I went to the doctor, I got called in in like an hour or so of waiting.
Now that I live in a mediocre big city, I can confirm here the doctors appointments for minor things like flue etc are hilariously far away sometimes.
So basically now I drive one hour to my good old village doctor whenever I need to visit the doc, because weeks after my sickness, it would be useless to visit the doc in my opinion.

The irony is Germany had one of the fastest appointments system with doctors!! I recall once being seen within 5 minutes without sitting in the waiting room. Its overstretched now 🤐

Year 2: you figure out that you can get a same-day consultation if you call between 8 and 9am

Meanwhile in Austria, I got seen same day, got diagnosed, got my prescription the next day, and two days later my ailment is pretty much gone.

That's not how it is in germany...! A Doctor's office never said he can't make an appointment to me and I never had to wait more than 2–4 days for an appointment. Except for an Hospital visit of course, but that is something different!

„I need an appointment as soon as possible!“
„The fastest we can do is in about six months…“
„I have private insurance!“
„Can you come in today?“

I've been living in Germany only for 2 years, but I already just drink the tea from the start and don't even bother getting a "Termin" from a doctor 😅

Where I live. You can get a sick note for something like the cold without seeing a doctor (as long as you are not to often sick). Just for more concerning things you need to see a doctor. And it really releases a lot of stress from workers, healthcare organizations, doctors and your boss. Even when remembering that nowadays sick notes are needed by law to be sent digital to the company. So you don’t have to deal with getting it there yourself.

When I call for sick. The termin would be just the same day. They usually squeeze me in between their scheduled patients.

Doctors in Poland:
- I'm feeling pain
- good, it means you are still alive

Well in switzerland, when we are sick, the doctors have medicaments, but many of the swiss people drink tea when they are sick, 😂😂😂😂

Here in Korea, I can walk in any clinic anywhere without an appointment.

If your really sick you will be able to just go into the doctots office, no matter if they take new patients at the moment.
