I would cover up the rest of the lab as the ceiling still may start leaking in other areas. As the flooding gets bigger on the floors above it may start to find new paths down into your unit.

Dave... does the building have a flat roof? Is it filling up with water, like perhaps a drain is blocked or whatever? Might I suggest going up there for a look?
Also... a wet/dry vac will quickly do wonders.
