I found something that works for me. Instead of setting outcome orientated goals I set process goals. So I do not set goals saying "lose 50 pounds at the end of the year"
But work out 5 days a week for the entire 52 weeks.
Seriously, this change in mindset changed my life.

Wow. The quality of this video is the best yet. A great way to close off the decade for ya. I remember back when I watched College Info Geek in high school and was glad to get the information, but never thought much of the production. The intro, that cut, those shots, and everything about this video is so much cleaner and easier to watch. Seeing your content evolve is inspirational. Keep it up and thanks for the solid content.

I’ve planned yearly goals for awhile and it absolutely sucks when I get to the end of year review and look what I haven’t accomplished. Now I’m moving to just get my daily routine right. If I can master a day, then a week, then a month, hopefully the results will be there by the end of the year. Annual planning rips my heart out though

I realy believe in starting small. For example in order to develop my reading habit I started with only 30 min daily and it worked way better than when I tried to read insane amounts immediatly, like 50 pages per day for example. Loved the video, keep up Tomas!

I used to watch all your videos to procrastinate from studying, now I can barely keep up with your content because I spend a lot of time actually studying.

I’m always striving to make positive changes but a few years ago I decided to set January 1 as the end date rather than the beginning. The beginning is whenever I decide I need to change something and I start immediately. But New Years is a convenient deadline date. For example, in early July this year I realized my balance control had deteriorated terribly with age so I began doing twice daily balance exercises and set January 1 as a deadline to have finished 360 sessions and to reassess my balance. I have several such projects running in parallel that I’m always working on and monitoring but New Years is my day to celebrate my successes. Frankly, it also gives me a cool satisfaction to know I’ve just “finished” something important to me while others are just now beginning.

I've been watching you for 3-4 years now and I have to say I'm consistently both impressed and surprised at your ability to outdo yourself every. single. new. video. Seriously man, I have mad respect for you, your team, and all that y'all've done.

This is good advice Thomas, especially the advice about starting small and breaking things into bite-sized pieces and doing at your own pace. This is how I learned Japanese...I believe in tracking progress, even when it seems small and one step at a time. Good stuff, keep up the good work!
