May is Mental Health Awareness Month. With the declining mental health in 2022 reported around the world, we feel that it is important to talk about emotional wounds, and trauma. Healing from trauma is a life long process that often improves with therapy. Do you suspect that someone's mental health is worsening, because they have experienced personal traumas that were never healed?

Disclaimer: Please do not self diagnosed. If you noticed many of these signs, we suggest seeking professional help.

I love the Jinx reference! Arcane is my favorite show, and Jinx definitely represents unhealed emotional trauma, and a lot of other things.

We may be done with the past but our past may not be done with us. And that was me from all the emotional abuse along with physical abuse I experienced up until I was 17 years old. I'm almost 60 now and it has just been a few years now that I consider that I'm living here in the present. It took a lot of work to get where I'm at and I'm glad I dd it.

Most people often don't believe i've been through some trauma, because i don't actually do drugs or alcohol, and i do take care of myself. However all the other symptoms are still a constant part of my life. I guess that's what they call struggling, but getting better ? It still feels bad that some people won't believe that you've been through hard stuff because of how you act and appear like you are okay...
I send my strengh to everyone struggling, and everyone getting better

Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.

I was abused for almost 10 years. I’m a special needs individual. I’m totally blind, I’m on the autism spectrum, and I have CPTSD. I downplay my abuse by saying, “oh, it wasn’t that bad, it could’ve been worse. You’re just overreacting, it was discipline.” I got crap for knocking things over, especially in public. I also got crap for constantly touching and exploring everything around me, running into things and even getting mad for running into things. And if I said that I couldn’t help these things, I always got the treatment of, “yeah you can.” I also got crap for spilling things, and for a number of other things that I just don’t want to talk about. If I’m having flashbacks of my trauma, my escapes are smacking myself in the head, bottling my emotions up and not acknowledging them and downplaying them, music, or using anything sensory related.

I strongly believe that it is important for everyone to know their traumas and hopefully learn to eventually accept it though it may not be easy. There may be many unhappy memories but there will always be someone with you throughout your recovery even though you may not notice ❤

I had a biology teacher that made my A-Levels life hell

He is very popular with other students and teachers but when it came to me, he scares me

He always jumps into conclusions about me based on what I was wearing and telling me I should give up and be homeless

Yet he insists that I take classes with him if I don’t want to fail and he threatened me he will report to my parents

Years later when I confronted him and tell him what he did hurt me, he tried to call the cops on me

Needless to say, his name made me vomit and I’m writing a lot as an author to be better

I was diagnosed with PTSD and I always feel weird because everyone just sees me as just fine but a lot of these signs are seen in me and I didn't realize that it was that clear from the outside world

This was very helpful.. I have a friend who gets defensive when I ask about their mental health and I just need to let them be until they feel ready to open up to me

Fun fact: Traumas aren't just bad things that happened, it can be something good that didn't happened.

I became severely depressed at a young age and was in an abusive household, and by now it feels like some of these symptoms are just ingrained into my personality now.
