When you think of “schizophrenia”, what comes to mind? The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Psychiatric Disorders (DSM-5) defines schizophrenia as a mental disorder consisting of a constellation of symptoms such as delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thinking, and abnormal behaviors. In this video, we'll be talking about the signs of schizophrenia.

Disclaimer: No single symptom alone is characteristic of the disorder, and people exhibit different symptoms. Please do not self-diagnose and seek professional help if you are worried about your health.

From a schizophrenic, please don’t self-diagnose. I know a diagnosis is hard to get these days and the healthy system is a joke, but misdiagnosing yourself does more harm than good.

I got diagnosed with schizophrenia 18 years ago as a teenage. Spent my whole life fighting schizophrenia. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my mom recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 6 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

I hate doing a self-diagnose, but I can't seriously hide the fact, that most of this is present on me...

My friend would've benefited from this video. Sadly, he took his life in October 2013 just a mere day after his diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia. 💔 His mother and sister created an organization in his honor shortly after. Still going strong to this day.

Guys some of these symptoms can be a result of anxiety so don’t automatically assume you are a schizophrenic

First watching this video made me realise that I had a few of the symptoms but didn't really think much of it, but after counselling and meetings with psychiatrists I was finally diagnosed a few weeks ago and given tips and medications to help and it's changed my life so thank you

There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. 🙏

I have a friend with schizophrenia that has explained some of his issues.
Aside from the visual hallucinations, he sometimes has moments where is brain tricks his memory.
So while he thinks he stood up and put the milk away, and truly believes he did, he never actually got off the couch.
His memory almost immediately omits something it was told and his family has called 911 when they found him sitting on his bed, staring into space for hours. To him, it was just a few minutes.
He explained a bit of visual hallucinations but they aren't really relevant to my comment but all in all, I'm really happy I wasn't unfortunate enough to have this.

I was diagnosed with schizophrenia a few years ago but never really looked into it till today. Watching this video really opened my eyes about myself cause a lot of the things in this video pertains to me. I recently got a mental health evaluation and a lot of the stuff on here was listed 😬

I have DID and thought originally it was schizophrenia. So did one of my friends. But then my alter started to learn more than me, and recognized that I existed. We both realized it around 2013. 2018-2019 a third joined. It's been tough, but just know no matter who you are, you are loved, no matter your "malfunction"
