He's not the joker, he inspired someone else to become the joker, what a joke

Making this movie a musical might actually the dumbest decision in the history of cinema. Literally the dumbest.

Then of course there's the ending. You spend two whole movies under the assumption that you're getting the back story of how Fleck became the infamous Joker then he just changes his mind and gets unceremoniously murdered in prison.

Once they mentioned it was a musical, I honestly lost interest.

The whole thing was garbage and lady Gaga made it even worse.

I thought it was actually pretty damned good.
Not the sequel most people wanted, but a proper sequel to the first one nonetheless.
And it's tragically hilarious how self aware it was on how it would be received.

I thought it was interesting.
Where most musicals use the songs to move the plot forward directly, with literal events in the song often happening in the world of the show, they decided to handle it here far more indirectly, with the music only showing the progress of his emotional state and delusions.
The first film made it clear the point of view we were being given was unreliable, and that remained true in the sequel.

It's pretty funny to me that people are upset that the movie wasn't the comic book Joker's origin story.
People complain that Marvel's movies have become cliche and predictable, but then people are upset when they're given something that takes a different approach.
The first one cast strong doubt on that when full adult Arthur Flek met little child Bruce Wayne.

The reviews are bad because the movie is bad….your welcome

i never found Fleck to be morally bankrupted/corrupted, i found him to be a gritty portrait of a simple, weak, slightly disabled/traumatized person living on the bottom of society stairs, trying desperately to hold on to basic universal morals while failing at it and slipping into full mental illness, due to also no help but instead being pushed more into it by the current society state, resulting in him devolving into violence and madness.

It's a sequel no one asked for made for an audience that doesn't exist

Terrible story! looked amazing and great performances but it is boring throughout. It teased that it was going somewhere but fell flat.

"1st movie a huge success? Lets flip the script and make the sequel a musical!"

I kind of thought they were using the music to show his delusions.

I’m honestly confused as to why people don’t like this movie. It’s so relatable to society today and how people love you as long as you’re playing the character they want you to be it’s deep on so many levels. Mental illness being the biggest one. Ni I didn’t like the ending but I think this will become a cult classic once people are actually able to understand it, also didn’t like all of the singing but honestly It makes sense for the message.

The movie was bad
The movie is kaput
I would rather watch King of the Hill on my phone and have this movie in the background

I'm so torn on this one. For starters, I wasn't the biggest fan of the first one. What bothers me the most about the sequel is it started off good. Probably the first hour was very good in my opinion. In fact, I liked the first hour of this better than I liked the first one. But it gets your imagination going on all the epic ways this story could've went and it pulls the rug from under you by going nowhere. I'll tell you what though, I won't forget this film anytime soon.

I just saw the movie and understood why nobody likes it: Because it is an image of the times we live in. Nobody wants a real mirror. Nobody wants to be themselves. because that person is not liked nor loved. Everybody wants to be perfect on Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok. And so is this movie. When mental ilness and being unhappy will be a normal topic and discussed out in the open, you will understand the beauty of this movie.

The french word deux (two) is pronounced dö and not doo! An ö like the u in Murphy!

I've read the reviews on this and sure making it into a musical/courtroom drama was not THE best idea I wonder what it'd be like HAD Warner Bros DIDN'T let Todd Phillips have total control over the movie, we don't deny that Joaquin Pheonix and Lady G's performances weren't good but it could have been better and I still think it was brave of Todd to make it into this type of movie
