The director Todd Phillips basically stated his open disdain for people who like comic book movies and especially if you liked the first Joker. They think that we are idiots that will just dork over the cash anyway.

Hate to see it but they really somehow managed to mess this up super bad. It looks promising it was promising, but ended up being a huge disappointment 😕 This score is actually generous from IGN. What a shame

You know what the saddest part of this review is? They were not only right, they gave it a proper score. Just aesthetically pleasing enough (lead performances, score, cinematography) to save it from being a zero.
