huhhhhh so Joker Folie A Deux kinda broke my brain and after leaving the cinema I feel we have a lot to talk about. This is a year that saw the release of Madame Web and somehow I think this is actually even worse. Throughout this video I just wanna go through my thoughts other wise I think my heads gonna explode.

So let's begin...and obviously yeah if you have another point of view then drop it below.

Now the first thing I wanna talk about is the fact that this movie not only undoes the first film but it also makes the title completely pointless. In that movie we saw the rise of the Joker and watched as Arthur Fleck took on the persona. Civil unrest followed him and the city was brought to its knees by people following his lead. In this it led to the death of the Waynes and in doing so Joker, created Batman.

It was the perfect origin story that made the Joker not only sympathetic but also a hero of his own story. Though you cant condone his actions, I think Philips did a masterful job of painting out how people are often made monsters because of the world around them.

Gotham was brought down to its lowest point and in this the two extreme sides were born. We had Joker who was the ultimate force of chaos vs batman whos the ultimate force of order.

Now one of the biggest issues I have with the movie is the fact that Philips couldn't really get out his own way. In the articles, interviews and general tone of the movie, theyve made it clear they were trying to tear down the hero.

Calling it worse than Madame Web is a huge call. This film showcases the downfall of a man beaten down by society and when he thinks people love him it’s actually not the person they love it’s someone else.

If Todd wanted to make fun of Warner Bros for forcing a sequel, why not create a message about using someone's mental health for one's own benefit? The first Joker movie made it clear that Nobody gives af about mental health, so maybe have this one be about people/companies using Arthur's newfound fame to make themselves look better. Imagine if a corrupt mayor used Arthur's story to "advocate" for mental health services for his own gain, only to have Arthur meet him and punish him for it. You caused his pain, now you think you can control him? You cannot control chaos, and now Gotham will fall because of it.
