You could say (like many times before) that the main problem with the sequel is the first movie's existence. The story was absolutely done, nothing to add, the message clear. Why make a sequel when you can just make another good movie?

I think the problem with this movie even existing is that the first Joker movie was just trying to be it’s own thing in it’s own bubble.

It was a one and done flim.

It’s very apparent that the Director intended this, because I feel like there was no need for a sequel in the slightest

Oof, sorry to hear, forst I was a lil puzzled why they didnt make Harley his shrink amd just another patient. It just made Joker more sinister that he was able to inspire a shrink to loose her marbles. I really wanted to see Arthur Fleck delve deeper into his madness and become more confident as the crime clown of Gotham. To witness the continued evolution into the villain. And the musical numbers be some bizarre reflections pf his psychosis, but oh well

By the end of the first movie Arthur had confidence, aura, and character development. He had a distinct identity.

The entire sequel had him completely revert to a shy, timid, confused, random personality that seemed completely disconnected from who he was towards the end of the first film.

It’s like they hated what they made in the first one so they completely made his character this time a husk of his former self who literally gets stabbed to death after reverting permanently.

I really like how the movie is so ominous and you can read arthur’s poker face. you can really tell he lives for the applause as well which really made me realize how much he just wanted to dance in the courtroom. there is a hidden bad romance between arthur and harley that was shown through different point of views but the paparazzi being my favorite. overall… gaga/10

It’s definitely disappointing. Considering the first was intended to be a standalone…I’m speculating, but Warner Bros felt the need to pressure Phillips into making a sequel. And the unintended Hangover trilogy is proof that maybe he should avoid them 😅. That ending is definitely studio interference too. There’s nothing you can tell me.

I’m assuming this is the final one…cause I honestly don’t see this universe continuing at the same time Reeves’ Batman + Gunn’s DC universe is happening
