So after seeing it and going down a rabbit hole, I’ve come to realize that Todd Philips made the movie against the fans on purpose because like Arthur’s followers in the movie, people in theaters walked out on him when he admitted that there is no Joker. We definitely all wanted another chaotic joker power trip but it does not mean that we don’t like Arthur because he is probably the most tragic character I have seen and I felt so sorry for him through both movies….

As a psych researcher and Batman fan there were a few things wrong with the movie. This movie did not show multiple personality disorder in the character (but it did insinuate it incorrectly). It showed a depressed, anxious, possibly schizophrenic (though not entirely definitive) victim.
The Joker from the comics is by all counts a psychopath, with high levels of neuroticism, narcissism, and egoism, while engaging in sociopathic behaviours. This is the character we (as fans) all know and love.
The psychopathy present in a 'real Joker' cannot be just medicated away as seen in the movie. I mean it's possible to sedate the crazy, but it doesn't change the crazy...
Furthermore, Joker cares too much in the first film (meaning he isn't really a psychopath) and this carried on in the second film instead of disappearing in the new persona 'the Joker' (supporting the multiple personalities theory).
The pathology is wrong, like so wrong. It's honestly insulting how wrong the depiction of such an iconic character is...
I don't believe the Joker was shown in this film we did not see the 'Joker'. I think it's not hard to see why a movie would bomb if the movie doesn't show the characters it claims to present...

I was so hooked onto joker and his relationship. It was a great movie I’m just sad how it ended considering how attached I was to joker. It rlly portrayed the idea of anti hero for me, in a city of just chaos. I think Harley was a rlly good partner sticking by him, but in the end that’s just how it is. I was a bit disappointed that joker said there is no joker cause that sounds cowardly.
