1:43 the problem with trying to value the new Joker movie as a commentary on mental health, is that having the Joker title will drive away most people who don't care about comic book movies, while the way the movie goes will drive away most people who do. So the audience for this movie is people who happen to enjoy both comic book movies AND movies about mental health. That's like trying to open a restaurant that only serves French fries dipped in ice cream and pineapple pizza. Yes, there are a lot of people who do enjoy the sweet savory mix, but it's you're still going to struggle to keep a business like that profitable.
