Even live TV in the conventional sense has a delay. I've learned to put away our phones while watching sporting events. Otherwise, no matter what you do, including this setting, you're just ruining the anticipation effect.

Good, i hated the latency, especially watching sports.

I just compared the default delay to the new setting by toggling between YTTV and my OTA antenna feed for the local ABC affiliate. The statistics shown on the nerds setting are a bit different than what I measured with a stopwatch. Anyway the delay difference I observed between the default setting and the reduction setting was only about 5-6 seconds. BTW We recently switched from DirecTV stream to YouTube TV and the delay is much less on YTTV. Thanks for all the information. Much appreciated.

A potential solution to the worst thing about streaming sports. I'll continue to watch over-the-air whenever possible, but I'll give this a try for games not available OTA.
