Just cancelled DirectTV for YoutubeTV because of Sunday Ticket. I have always hated DirectTV so it is awesome to finally cut the cord

4K should be included with their pricing

My biggest complaint is the DVR feature; when something is recorded, it's thrown into your library along with every other episode and every season of that same show, so you have to painstakingly scroll through the entire history of that show to manually hunt for the DVR'd content. I don't understand why Youtube TV doesn't give you a separate listing of your DVR'd content, apart from all the on-demand episodes of the same show. When I'm trying to find a DVR'd version of a show and it's mixed somewhere randomly within the 25 existing seasons of 18 shows per season, it's maddening trying to find it. And of course watching a DVR'd version of a show is the only way to not be force-fed 9 commercials in a row over 7 different commercial breaks.

Honestly, because of your videos, I opted to cut the cable chord a few months ago and went with YouTube TV. Still getting used to the few additional steps needed to get to actual watching, nevertheless no regrets so far. Still lots to learn though so thank you for continuing to present these videos. To the point and informative.👍🏻

We had Sling but they raised their prices for both the base service and the News add-on. Then Apple followed suit. By the time we also added Frndly just to have The Weather Channel (which is a must for me), and considering that we didn’t have locals through Sling, it just made sense to go back to YouTube TV and cancel the other services. I’m not happy with YouTube TV pricing but at the moment they deliver the best value compared to others. We’ve just accepted that from time to time, we should evaluate options and go with whomever has the better deal for us. That’s the value of cord cutting; no long term commitments and freedom to sign up for or cancel services when we want.

I am not going to lie....I love Youtube I tried Sling TV and I thought that tried Hulu Live TV and that was ok TV for my situation is know its gone up in price a few times since I have had the service but it is STILL way better than cable and I would recommend to anyone who is looking to save $$$

The biggest advantage of streaming service cable is u can come and go as you please. I'm mostly only using it for 6 months a year.

I switched to YouTubeTV from U-Verse a few months ago and I love it. I agree with most of the complaints regarding no channel numbers, not being able to delete shows from DVR, etc. On the flip side, I’m not a sports guy so I’m pretty happy with the channel selections on the base plan, and of course I’m happy about the fact that I’m paying half of what I was paying for U-Verse.

Good stuff. My “complaints are simple. Give me a previous channel option. Having to back out find new new channels then same to go back. I made my custom live guide so I’m good. Yes the library sucks. Enjoy your vids.

I just started this service because Hulu kept cutting off the end of my shows and YouTube tv has a couple of channels that Hulu did not. That being said, there is NO rhyme or reason to whether a show I add to my library is in the DVR mode or the VOD mode. Consequently, some shows have commercials that I cannot skip. Videos say to always choose the DVR option and never the VOD option. That’s all well and good but I never get the chance! That option never comes up! I’m still in my free trial so I’m not sure what I’m going to be doing. Thanks for listening!

I like yt tv, and I plan to stay with it. My only question is, why can’t I delete content from the dvr? It would seem like an easy fix.

I mainly use it on a Nvidia Shield.
- Without channel numbers, need a faster was to get to a channel other than scrolling
- Scheduled recordings has no real way to tell what time something is coming on or how long it is.
- Scheduled recordings there is no easy way to tell if a show that's scheduled is new or if it's a rerun.
- Bug, resuming a paused recording will sometimes resume in the wrong spot. Many online complaints.
- Bug, watched shows sometimes come back into the New In Your Library section. Sometimes they disappear again on their own, other times you have to mark them as watched in the Windows app.
- While I've gotten used to navigation, I don't think I could get my senior parents to do this. I think YTTV needs to look at Tivo and the ease of use that made it so popular. I know you can't and wouldn't want to make a clone, but you'd find features that could be brought over.

I have a couple of minor issues with YouTube tv, but they're definitely not deal killers.
FIRST: The DVR issues that you mentioned.
SECOND: They don't offer an add-on which includes the missing Discovery channels like AHC, Destination America, Science Channel, etc.
As far as the RSNs, I really don't care one way or the other about them, but I don't want to pay more for them.
Like I said though, these are not deal killers for me.
IMO YouTube tv is still the best PREMIUM service.

I wish that you could choose for each show to either record "all episodes" or "only new episodes, and then have those show up in your library. Instead what happens is only new shows show up in your library (even though the older shows record anyway). Some shows are broadcast on another network first (Discovery+, BBC), so when they air on the channels I receive (Food Network, BBC America), I never see them show up in my library - YouTubeTV doesn't think they're new shows. But they're new to me!

My biggest issue is the audio falling out of sync. It's intermittent but frequent. It's been a problem since they introduced support for 5.1 audio. Happens on multiple TVs in my house.

Excellent video and information again! Much of this reflects my comments in the past. We're teetering on canceling it but we still need access to ESPN Provider credentials and I prefer the both live and DVR options. The reason it's so expensive and it's convoluted with so many channels is because of all these anti-consumer mergers which don't seem to be slowing down.

I canceled all of the YouTube TV add-ons and instead went directly to HBO MAX, Showtime, etc and the primary reason is I got sick and tired of having to redo the credentials every few weeks on every every TV most of which have three different streaming devices. However, most importantly, if you pay in many cases a year in advance, you can get a significant discount. YouTube TV offers no such discount, I assume they think that you're going to cancel them at will. I still in retrospect. Can't believe that I had all those add-ons in some cases for years.

For my mother, I have her set up with DirectStream TV running on a Roku because for whatever reason that was the easiest for my 85-year-old mother to adjust to. It's basically a traditional cable TV and most senses.

Anyway, I look forward to your next video. Take care.

I cut the cable early this year and haven't looked back. The problem is that there are a lot of trees behind my home where I have to put my antenna, and I don't have the option to put it outside, so I have it in an upstairs window. During the summer, I had a hard time picking up certain channels reliably, so I tried all of the big players - YouTube TV, FUBO, and Hulu Live. I have rather specific tastes, and FUBO was the only one to cover all my desired channels (YouTube TV the fewest). My problem is that I couldn't justify paying for any of these, since at most I only cared about a quarter of the channels, and paying that much to pickup the one local station I watched regularly wasn't a good option. I have been much happier piecing together different streaming options and changing the subscriptions when I run out of things to watch on one of them.

As always, an excellent video, but I can't believe you didn't mention about the screen freezing after fast forwarding ! So glad I cut the cable thanks to your videos.

Hi Alex I just switched from cable to YouTube TV because it resulted in a monthly savings of $75. I like YouTube TV the service is reasonable at $65 per month offering all of the programs I enjoy watching. The included DVR recording works great and I like the fact I don't have to do any maintenance. When I opened YouTube TV on my Vizio TV with Smartcast the following message appeared "YouTube TV no longer supports this device". Based on this statement I purchased Chromecast with Google TV and very happy I made the purchase. Now when I turn on the TV I am on YouTube TV and don't have to scroll throw many apps that I will never subscribe to. YouTube TV is not perfect no streaming service is but after re configuring the guide I have no complaints.

The only thing I can’t stand is the channel quality. I had cable and all channels were at 1080p. Really want YouTubeTV to update the channel quality and move away from 720p.
