If it wasn’t for Sports I would drop all these live tv services.

Nope. Had YTTV for 14 months. Wife very frustrated that History channel missing. Just installed an 80 mile range Digital antenna in my attic. 53 clear local channels. Switched to Sling Blue with an AirTV 2 to integrate the antenna channels into the Sling guide. So far its great and wife is happy. ROI is about a year.

Unless you are a sports fan or a cable news fan I don't see the point of paying for live TV. The entertainment channels show syndicated content most of the time.

Absolutely worth it! They are constantly improving and adding features and channels. Their is a real value for my family. My kids watch at college. It travels too.

I switched to You Tube tv several months ago and am pleased with the service. I am not a sports fan but it’s nice to have it in case I see a game that looks interesting. I love the dvd option. One reason I left cable.

Thanks much! That final tip was key… we only sub to live TV during the NFL season, then drop again and spend more time with our other services.

I can’t understand why people pay a premium for live TV and tolerate all those commercials. I remember when we first got cable TV in the early 1980’s. The entire premise was to have more content, better quality signal of broadcast channels, and avoid commercials. People were pissed when HBO scrambled their picture around 1984/1985. Yet to this day, people continue to pay for these services regardless.

My husband watches tons of sports as well as lots of the other channels on YTTV. We are happy with YTTV and know that the increased price still beats what DISH was charging.

I spent about that in one month for TV. I bought a OTA Antennae and now enjoy around 30 stations for FREE. So screw the big networks and the price gouging they do.

One of the problems I have had with these services over cable is the inability to quickly jump to stations because there are no "channel numbers" assigned. On cable, you can quickly jump from channel 124 to channel 26 with a few remote clicks.

I dropped spectrum tv and got yttv and saved $100 per month. Spectrum said they had their own cloud dvr svc and would match yttv price but that only made me more furious that i had been renting dvr boxes for no reason. I mainly got yttv to watch espn and Fox news. I mostly watch freevee and pluto. I plugged in my giant YAGI roof antenna from 1993 into the spectrum splitter and scanned 79 channels lol. Remember that local channels broadcast in 4K for FREE. Just use your antenna.

I dropped YTTV and went to FUBO more channels and lots of sports channels.

You were part of our decision to cut the cord and go with YouTubeTV. Your videos were very informative and I watched several of them when I was trying to decide to switch over and then after I did, to help me setup my channels and understand how it worked.

I switched to YouTubeTV a few months ago and love it! Thanks to you Michael I have learned to navigate the interface and after just a short time felt very comfortable with it. I was not happy to learn of the price increase but for what they provide and what my needs are it is still better than cable. Hopefully the new price will hold for at least a couple years.

Michael this was an excellent 101 video on UT TV. One reason we have kept it is because it offers our local PBS station where most other streaming services don't.

Thanks

Your videos got me hooked on you tube tv last September when we moved to N. Georgia. Lack of cable companies made me look into cable cutting. Thanks to you I am thrilled with you tube tv and the money saved over traditional cable companies. Especially Xfinity.

Great tips, especially the VOD vs DVR being able to skip ads.

Very Good Updated Review...I cut the Cord with YOUTUBE TV approx 6 months ago, combining it with FRNDLY TV, & I'm satisfied...I just wish YOUTUBE TV's DVR operated like FRNDLY TV's DVR which allows you to remove already seen Episodes from your Library....
