Our Rich Journey – Why I Quit My Job and Retired at 39 | A Visual Poem - It's been two years since Christina and I reached financial independence, quit our jobs, and retired early. In looking back on these two years, I have to say: It's been everything we hoped it would be . . . and more! And so we made this video JUST FOR YOU! This is unlike any other video we've ever done. In fact, it's a poem I wrote (along with visuals!) to express why I quit my job and retired at 39. I hope it will inspire and motivate you to pursue your FIRE goals so that one day, you can take your 40 hours of work back from your employer . . . and do whatever it is that you want to do, too!

I'm grinning. Ever time you say, "I took 40 hours back, " I feel this in my soul. This sounds like a poem, a love song, a mantra, a prayer of Thanksgiving. LOVE💕.

This sounds like a Maya Angelou poem. We weren’t put on this earth to slave so a few people could be rich. Beautiful message ♥️

In the short term, I’ll settle for taking 20 hours back. Someday I’ll take the full 40. Thanks for the video.

Time for the lot of us to get our 40 hours back.

That was beautiful, Amon. The best thing money can buy is NOT a huge mansion or a Lamborghini. The best thing money can buy is time. Time to do whatever we want, whenever we want, with whoever we want. Thank you for inspiring us

I feel sorry for those that don’t like this video. Those that don’t want to take 40 hours back.

Probably the most profound video, I’ve ever watched on you tube. I’m in that boat right now. I could’ve walked away from the workforce at 38 but stayed for 10 additional years, out of fear of the unknown, and institutionalized thinking. Now I’m at that point again where my current employment is soul crushing. I needed this video. It resonated deeply with me. “ I’m going to take my 40hrs back also” thank you.👊🏾

This brought tears to my eyes. I’ve been watching you guys for a few years. I started investing index funds because of you guys. Watched your step by step videos and literally did it. I am working on my 4 year plan to retire by 40. I am beyond exhausted and tired of the 40 hour work week. I want to wake up and choose what to do that day! Not work work work. Thank you for this inspiration!

This was so inspiring. “To draft an OOO email...” that one hit home for me. Beautiful visual poem, Iman. Great work. You’re investing in the most valuable asset you have - your family. 💞

This resonated with me. I was 50 when I took my 40+ hours back and love every minute of doing whatever I want to do with my days. Blessings to you and your family.

"Not being exhausted at the end of the day" really resonated with me. I retired early-ish last year, and feel transformed. I've watched your videos for guidance and validation during my journey. Thank you for sharing such great info!.
