"some people need amputations because they lose their fingers"

Try it on a Tungsten Carbide ring. Hope you have a lot of those cut off wheels that are diamond tip

If a person doesn’t care for the ring, I make two cuts, 180 degrees apart. This way, no need for pliers and possible pinching on the skin from the cut ring.

I am alergic to a certain mosquito here. Once it bit my finger and it swelled up for the whole day. This means I should never wear rings right? Because if I'm unlucky enough for the mosquito to bite me then the finger will swell and strangulate?

Got a drum cymbal stuck on my finger as a child. The hospital had no way to get it off. They tried ring cutter, shears, pliers, everything. Finally they gave up trying themselves, but for some reason decided that the fire department might be able to help.

They were right, 5 minutes later the fire department is there and they have to use industrial grade metal sheers to cut the thing off my finger. Looking back I'm still astounded at the punishment that cymbal took.

That tool looks like it would only work with soft metal like gold

What about titanium rings? Do they need a special cutting tool?

Does the amputation occur before or after they lose their finger

I take my ring off every other week or so to make sure it's not stuck. Thanks, Jimmy Garoppolo!

Just use a jewelers bow saw with blade pointed inward. So when you saw, you saw away from skin. It's much easier to get between swollen finger and ring with 0.2mm blade than a "can opener".

You can also use a piece of elastic and pull it off instead of cut it

The rings that cannot be cut like tungsten carbide rings can be crushed in a hydraulic press without crushing the finger too much. Problematic is material like titanium it's extremely hard but not brittle at all

This reminds me of the lady who had a ring so tight on her finger it took them hours to remove it

My wife was doing a home improvement project and she jammed her ring finger and it swelled to epic proportion and she came to me and I was like we have to get this ring off right goddamn now!
I ended up pretty much hacking the ring apart with a side cutter to get it off.
The ring repair wasn't bad though, I think it was only like $120. Considering I literally hacked the shit out of that thing.

If you can fit that thing under the ring you should be able to get that ring off with some oil no ?

I just cut my ring off with a pair of dog nail cutters. If it's made of gold - it's relatively soft and easy to cut

I have a 500 year old ring that's worth more than your education. I would rather lose my ring finger, which has no other purpose than to display rings, than have you destroy my treasures.

I bought one on Ebay, the company was called Beaver, it looks like it's from the 50's. The company changed it's name and sells medical tools, scapels and other medical devices.
