Our local jeweler tried to remove my husband's wedding band, after it suddenly became swollen when he developed gout, with string first and when it didn't work he cut the ring and removed it and he didn't charge him anything. He said he would be happy to make it larger whenever he was ready to do it. I got him a new ring for our anniversary back in December. We have been married for 33 years and we met through a blind date setup by mutual friends for New Year's Eve the year before we got married.

You can also use a tourniquet and it won't damage the ring. Just a suggestion so a customers don't have to pay for it to be fixed
