This is why I’m scared to wear specific things on my body especially rings even piercings like it can get stuck like that on a certain part of your body and having to go to the emergency room for it. I just like loose bracelets and necklaces I can take off and put on easily. I hope that person who got that ring stuck on their finger is okay and not too traumatized or anything. ❤

When I was pregnant, my hand swelled up, so my wedding ring bit into the skin. I calmly went to a jewelry store and had the ring cut off. The jeweler repaired the ring, so it looked perfect.
Moral of story, check your hands often. Remove rings when hands start to swell. Jewelry stores are cheaper than hospitals.

If the patient doesn’t care about the ring, it’s better to cut the ring in 2places, 180 degrees apart. This prevents the single cut from accidentally pinching the finger which can be quite painful

I'm a jeweler. Hospitals and Doctors regularly badly damage rings while removing them. The doctor in this video says that they have many tools for removal. A ring cutter will narrow the amount of tools necessary, make the removing much easier while not causing the patient a high repair bill if even possible or practical. The tool is cheap. (I have not ever charged to remove a ring in over 50 years)

Any time you injury your hand or even just the knuckle, remove your rings immediately! If swelling happens too fast, just get to the emergency room immediately!

Im a dentist and this happened to one of my patients and i had to use the bur that's supposed to be used to remove silver fillings to slowly break open the ring it took a solid 30 minutes cuz it's not supposed to be used on metal but it worked eventually lol

I seen a YouTube video where a homeless woman had the ring cut, but they couldn't remove the ring because skin had grown over it. The emergency room doctor said she needed to see a surgeon to have it removed. So they just let her go with the ring stuck in her finger.

I had my first engagement ring cut off at the ER. It was a silver diamond ring. We were super poor and it was beautiful at first and I'm allergic to nickel which I believe it was mixed in the silver. He bought me a much bigger and alot more beautiful ring made of gold. Even if I wear cheap earrings they turn my ear holes blackish, green and I have to wash with Qtip, soap and peroxide. I have the best hubby in the whole world. Oh why I got my ring cut off in the first place. I took a nap and woke up a hour later with my whole hand and forearm swollen. I wasn't sure if if I slept on that arm funny style or what that had never happen before. I immediately got to the hospital our Lyft driver was speeding and had to tell him to slowdown he might make things worse if he got into a accident. He got mad and had attitude and I thought he was going to ask us to get out the car. I never knew it why .y hand and forearm swelled and it went away a few days later. And it felt so much better getting the ring cut off.

Moral of story ppl use silicone rings for everyday wear, save the expensive ones for events

When I was a teenager (40+ years ago) my friend lost a finger because a ring he was wearing got caught on machinery. Ive never worn a ring since then.

OMG this happened to me and thank GOD the hospital did an amazing job job taking it off...it was cutting my blood supply but they managed to remove it
