Honestly if this happens the stores will close immediately and won’t let people buy anything. This happens when the electricity goes out. They turn down customers!

Even if you have cash, most places have electronic, internet connected cash registers and are not set up to handle it manually. However, it may come in handy to trade with farmers and others who have an abundance of necessities. Good video!

Since I have two propane stoves in my outdoor kitchen and lots of canning jars I will can everything I can’t eat immediately after an EMP. I also have the ability to cook with biogas and wood. Thankfully most of my neighbors are pretty prepared themselves and we live out in the boonies.

Something people don't think about is where you are at the time. If you are at work and live far from work you might want to look into a way to get back asap. A small gas powered scooter isn't a bad idea. You can siphon gas from any car and keeping a empty 2 gallon can attached to the gas scooter so you can gas up on the way home. Also try and get a 4 stroke scooter instead of a 2 stroke. 4 stroke is quieter and no mixing of oil and fuel.

We need to prepare before an EMP hits. First of all, get yourself an EMP Shield, a military grade device that blocks the pulse from coming into your home. That saves you devices. But you still are without any services that you buy from a utility company. So now you are off grid. But my own father grew up without power, so it can be done.
