You don’t need to pick the locks for the safes in the home area. Just use the workshop to remove them and the items inside will automatically be added.

Don’t pick the SPECIAL book up or any of the bobble heads up if your wanting to exceed 10 on the SPECIAL stats. Wait till you get it naturally to lvl 10 first. Then pick up the bobble heads and book.

You can buy Fusion cores in the ammo section of many traders, especially weapon dealers. They have up to 5 cores in their inventory. Which will refresh every 48 hours, give or take a cell reset.

You missed a LOT at the Robotics Disposal Ground. First off, there is a mini-nuke at that location, not just the launcher. The other thing is that you can command the bot to self destruct, whereupon it will have TWO fusion cores in its inventory.

To the new players: just play the game the way you want. Make the choices YOU think are right. Invest in perks you think are cool. It will be way more enjoyable because it is YOU who play, not somebody else. Besides, it's a single player game, you won't be missing out or "falling behind".

The laser musket is next to a dead minuteman, not a raider. He's wearing a minuteman uniform.

Never pick up a bobble head until you have that SPECIAL maxed out.
Once you have that SPECIAL maxed out go back and get that bobble head and it gives you an extra point on that SPECIAL you would not be able to get otherwise.

Try doing all of that on survival mode. Ammunition has weight and being over encumbered causes periodic damage. Mini nukes weight 12 units in addition to the Fatman's 30+ and fusion cores weight 4. Also you can only save at beds and if you don't sleep in a clean bed, you run the risk of getting some kind of sickness so you need to have antibiotics on you at all times. Eating and drinking are a mechanic also. The game's just not that easy on survival.
Edit: Forgot one of the biggest changes, no fast travel. You have to walk/run/jetpack everywhere.

Missed the mini nuke at the robotics disposable ground. To get that one is a little tricky. You have to walk close to the nuke tell it bounces off the broken car.
