7 bad habits that can ruin your day:
1. Eating breakfast
Eating stimulates hunger about an hour and a half later. This is because every time you eat, you increase insulin. Insulin prevents weight loss.

2. Drinking too much coffee
The caffeine in coffee can keep you awake at night if you have too much and leave you tired the next day. Only have one small cup in the morning and try coffee alternatives.

3. Grazing at night
This increases insulin, which keeps you from losing weight. It can also cause bloating and hunger in the morning and other symptoms of low blood sugar. Have more fat and nutrients in your last meal. Only snack on something like carrots and celery until you can give up snacking.

4. Exposing yourself to too much blue light
If you’re not exposed to enough infrared light and are exposed to too much blue light, it will affect your health and cause you to have trouble sleeping.

5. Going out to dinner
You don’t always know what’s in the food you’re eating, and some of the oils and ingredients they use could be bad for your health.

6. Grocery shopping when you’re hungry
You’ll be more likely to buy things you wouldn’t usually get if you do this.

7. Not eating enough nutrient-dense foods
If you consume foods low in nutrients (even if it’s keto-friendly), you won’t be satisfied, and you’ll consume the wrong foods. Nutrient-dense foods will help you feel better and overcome cravings.

I will never be tired of Dr Berg telling me that carbs and frequent meals increase insulin, on the contrary I would have in on repeat and listen to it everyday

Regarding #1....I came to the realization that eating makes you hungry when I questioned why appetizers are called appetizers. After I explored that, I payed attention to how I felt after eating part of a shared appetizer and still having to wait for the entree to be brought to the table. A similar effect is when they serve bread when you sit down. The servers, and the customers, think it's to hold you over until your meal is ready....but really it makes you crave the meal more.

I have noticed I'm usually less hungry when skipping breakfast, on the other hand if I do eat breakfast I'm more likely to eat all day. I definitely feel better if I wait till noon or longer before Eating.

I am bloated & sluggish when I eat too much & often. Like when I’m around family at the holidays. After that I do 72 hour water fasts & it sets me back right.☺️

Thanks Doc! You are so right!! Not eating after 5:30pm sets me up for great day, the next day. Ideally I don't eat until 1:30pm but never eat before 10:30am. Veggies!! Green smoothie!!! Three to Four eggs, or sardines, or Liverwurst, grass-fed ground beef. ACV & lemon. Get out and PLAY in the morning: Mtn bike; Hike with the puppers; Beach comb; Sun bathing; Gardening.

Another good video Dr Eric. I would add that inactivity / idle muscles is also a bad habit. Non exercise movement can solve many problems related to Insulin Resistance.

We are the sum total of the habits we develop in life. This includes all areas of life. Spiritually, relationally, physically and financially. Developing discipline in these areas will be a PROCESS. It will take time, patience and discipline. Quick fixes don’t exist.

I like how you admitted a mistake that you had made in the past about recommending breakfast.
Like which you use, the only way for progress is to find mistakes and correct them.
You help all of us by updating your knowledge !

Thanks for this video! I only recently realized that the more times I ate, the more I wanted to continue to eat. It seems so counterintuitive.
I have high cholesterol, and on my doctor's advice I spent 6 months avoiding saturated fats, which resulted in me eating lots of carbs, reduced fat foods, and no meat or eggs or fast food. I lost some weight, but my cholesterol did not improve. What did my doctor say? "You need to avoid those saturated fats!" BUT I DID THAT!!! So I don't take her diet advice anymore.

I never snack. I’ve been doing one meal a day (OMAD) since mid November; I occasionally have cravings for some of my favorite carbs like grapes and I sometimes have up six grapes at the end of my meal. Also, I sometimes have a small amount of pecans, pistachios, salted dark chocolate, or a few chicharrones immediately after my meal.

Following Dr. Berg's advice has helped me more than I could ever possibly express or thank him for... So, that being said. I'm going to go ahead and grow a beard too before he puts out the benefits of doing so! I fully trust this man!
