Obesity is a common thing today, specially in the USA. It's not only the unhealthy diets such as fast food and TV dinners but also the huge amounts that are purchased in stores served and consumed in (fast food) restaurants. Most Americans are accustomed to convenience and take the car everywhere, even to the store just around the corner or a few blocks down the road. Drive in bank here, drive in restaurant there, it's so easy accessible . To travel only a short distance Americans rarely ride a bike or go on foot to get to their destination. America was very successful to ban the endorsements of tobacco products at (sports) events and the media. I wonder why they rarely promote healthy diets and physical exercise?

Problem is added sugar and chemicals to processed food. Look at the labels everything has added sugar in some form. Also carb intake is too high.

Just a simple question: do you see a lot of obese people above 80 years old? Now you know the only thing you need to know.

Red meat is def ok to eat. Just get the best options with no antibiotics and hormones pumped in it. Beans, green vegetables, some fruits, nuts, fish types, low carb is advised but if you eat with carb, go with less sugar additives and not all day long.

Well I am vegetarian and I am not allowed a lot of candy and absolutely NO sugar. I have low amounts of salt and I eat a lot of nuts. Resulting in me being 20 lbs. underweight.

I used to drink 8 cans of sodas when I was a kid, now as an adult I only drink 1 can.

I don't eat much resturant foods, except Chick-fil-a, and Burger King.

When you have a problem with kidney stones, too many nuts can be a problem.

I lived in Italy for 3 years. Most people are 1/4 to half a pound or more. They were slim. They ate their breads. Italian breads in NY kinds that go stale in a day or two. But believe me they eat a lot there a bit of everything. I walked a lot. But it’s the way our food is made. Most of the food the grains, high fructose corn syrup. I ate more than half a pound to a pound of pasta. I lost 60 pounds in two months. People know the food is better made! We have toxins and chemicals. Italy drinks coke too and they get Coke Zero for Americans. They don’t think of diets. They eat when they want. Bakery cookies every day. Not supermarket cookies! Processed stuff. Their meats are all made better I just know. I gained the weight back in the USA. Then I had to eat a low fat diet. So long plateaued. I walk 12000 to 20000 steps. In Italy maybe 6000 steps. Everything was close. Our food do the research and our foods even our organic is not so organic or like how Italian foods are. They rarely have problems with the bread. They never worry about celiac disease or to be gluten free. Whole wheat pasta they would never touch it! They think it’s American. I know i cooked the same in both places. My maternal side is Italian by ancestry. My mom ate so much but always slim. Purée is the closest American style sauce to Italy! Everything is puréed there. Chemicals. I heard much of our soil has been ruined. Find out so many people went abroad in many counties ate more and lost weight!!!! UK Ireland Australia are all catching up to US made products. Obesity changed there too. Obesity rates there are like us in the 80s. 15 percent overweight and 15 percent obese. Now it’s double here. England then was half that. Italy is less than 10. McDonalds they have less in their cities are packed! I never ate that much there except some Italians love it. Young ones. They say the MC Donald’s in Europe Italy and France taste better than Here better made quality locally made very tough laws to keep it that way. Probably taste like our Mc Donald’s in the 40s 50s early 60s. Before our foods the way they made them changed. Do the research and find out why. Upsetting. You wonder what food is ok? Most of the food was wrecked including our soils. Best in the world pre 1970s.

It's partially eating habits and education. But also it's the sheer poisonous nature of the processed and prepared food in the U.S. I started making my own food from scratch and I don't buy bread from the U.S. I lost 30 lbs easily. Prepared food overseas doesnt have the chemicals, sugars, and fat in it.
