Avoid these 7 liver-damaging habits to prevent liver disease and a fatty liver. These habits destroy liver health!

Video on Stretching Technique:

0:00 Introduction: What causes liver problems?
0:10 Over-the-counter pills
0:26 Liver damage from Tylenol
1:13 Sedentary lifestyle and liver damage
2:30 Poor diet and eating habits
7:18 Stress and liver health
8:20 Alcohol
9:58 Vitamin deficiencies

1. Over-the-counter pills
Tylenol is the number 1 cause of acute liver failure. Many people don’t realize the dangers of over-the-counter medications. Some people even take them routinely.

Milk thistle increases liver regeneration and has unique properties that support liver health. NAC also protects the liver.

2. Sedentary lifestyle
Eating calories that you’re not burning off causes damage and oxidative stress at the cellular level. Exercise can burn off excess fuel, strengthen the immune system, increase oxygen throughout the body, and reduce stress. Try to get into the habit of regular exercise or physical work.

3. Unhealthy diet
Seed oil combined with starch or sugar is the basis for almost all junk food and is highly damaging to the body, especially the liver. These foods create insulin resistance in the liver, which is at the root of chronic health concerns such as belly fat, obesity, fatty liver, and high blood pressure.

4. Eating for convenience
Many people live busy lives and eat on the go. This usually means fast food, poor-quality food, and poor-quality protein, which is damaging to liver health. Take the time to prepare your meals and plan what you will eat for the week.

5. Stress
Stress can cause sleep problems that interfere with your blood sugar levels. Chronic stress can even activate dormant viruses. Vitamin B1, vitamin D, exercise, and long walks can all help reduce stress.

6. Alcohol
Alcohol goes straight to the liver! Mixed drinks are the worst because they contain alcohol and sugar. Avoid making alcohol a part of your everyday routine.

7. Vitamin deficiencies
Phytonutrients are essential for liver function. Consume cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli and arugula regularly to help the liver detoxify. Salads with garlic and onion, grass-fed beef, and wild fish are rich in nutrients that help protect the liver.

Hi Dr. Berg, please keep going! We need your educational content now more than ever. I was watching your video on the rise of the junk food industry, and suddenly it stopped and disappeared from your channel. Don’t let anything discourage you, your knowledge is making a real difference! Obrigado! From Miami, FL.

So, I always kind of wondered about when he says he feels like crap after eating junk food, because you know when we're younger, we don't think it care about that, typically. I turned 41 a few days ago. I can honestly say, there's a noticable difference to how I feel whether I eat well or not.❤

With all the food labelling laws, why do they get away with calling it vegetable oil. I changed from animal fat to vegetable oil, because I thought it was a healthier option, and ofcourse from vegetables. Thankyou for your videos, I might finally get a normal life in a few months. I have been so ill for so long.

When Dr. Berg said "I literally had to be so sick, be in so much pain before I said, that's it." I feel you doc--I have come kicking and fighting the obvious for decades, eliminating one bad habit/ food per every 5 years or so...but here I am grain free, no alcohol, only grass fed meats, sardines, low carbs except food I grow myself in careful moderation (like fresh berries and fruit off the tree).

FINALLY getting better for Good--have to before I end up sensitive to everything....edit: he could have added vaccinations which made me turn yellow and almost killed me--but of course his video would have been removed.

I managed to save that one! You gotta be fast when it comes to corporations policing information. The diet he propositioned is exactly what I had been eating for my Keto OMAD for the last two years. Basically: Protein vegetables, nuts and monk fruit make up a proper keto meal.

Great Stuff!

Thank you, I am glad you mentioned it, always prepare your meals in advance, cook in bulk and store, never go home to an empty fridge, to eat from pantry! Learn to cook simple meals, it is your health, it is your responsibility!!! Cook your own meals! Don’t rely on others to prepare and cook your meals, you will fail! Salads, fatty proteins, tons of olive oil. Simple!!!

When I was little my guardian would give me Tylenol when I was sick, I did read once somewhere that Tylenol did contribute to liver issues, which were a major problem for me growing up. Sugar didn’t help either, but that and some other forms of medication as a young child certainly didn’t help my liver either.

That being said, I guess carbs, over eating, similarly to alcohol are all forms of self hatred. I’m somewhere where I can see a vending machine nearby, and all I can think of as I see the colorful packaging inside is _inflammation._ and more embarrassing forms of inflammation. You have given me a road map. It’s not that I couldn’t learn my lesson, it’s just that I didn’t know what was doing my what to my body and what insulin resistance even was. Keto has changed my life for the better and made it possible to begin to resolve other self defeating behaviors.

Bless you and thank you, always.

Yes, there are certain junk foods that I cant stand anymore after losing so much weight, fasting and clean eating. Highly processed foods doesn’t hit the same for me anymore, it doesn’t feel the same; it is quite bizarre actually. If I want a burger or sugar meal I rather go to a proper restaurant or cook for myself, at least I know im not getting f. with ingredients and chemicals. Though I have to say exercise and strength training is a must and can give you a lot of forgiveness on your diet. Once you are closer of your main weight goal, you can relax a bit and have some breaks here and there. But eating wrong everyday will crush your metabolism and health no matter what, that is true.

I tried Milkthistle, but suffered a hypersensitivity reaction to it. So if you have an inflammatory autoimmune disease beware ❤
